Great solution for an old iPod Classic
John Malaise✓ Verified Purchase•September 19, 2023
I needed to add a firewire card to my new Windows 10 PRO 64-bit computer.
Unfortunately older models of iPods, such as my Gen 3 "classic", will only charge using a firewire connection.
This bargain card did the trick!
I simply added the card to the spare PCIe slot and turned on the computer.
Everything loaded in fine and my old iPod is charging just fine.

Fantastic Firewire Desktop PCs-IEEE 1394 works seamlessly with Windows 11. Using it to record all my old Hi8 tapes. Like the fact the mounting bracket can change. So far has worked flawless with Windows 11.
My Second Time To Purchase This Firwwire Card - A+

I purchased my first of these LinksTek PCIE FireWire Cards four years ago and it still works flawlessly, no issues. When I decided to add one to my other studio PC recently, I of course bought this same card. I use these firewire cards for connecting a Sony Digital 8MM camcorder to the PC and transfer the video tapes to digital on my hard drive. These cards have never failed me. I experience zero frame drops when transferring video through the card but I do have a PC with an Intel I9 processor and 128 GB of Ram, and this plays a part in the zero frames dropped. But, as for the firewire card, I don't believe you can find another one that would out perform this one, and the price is very reasonable.
Plug-and-play with Windows 11 and Canopus ADVC 110

Lost my onboard Firewire port when I upgraded to Win11 and an ASUS Z590-Plus MB, which meant I lost access to my analog-to-digital box that I had been using for some old home movies on VHS and some mixed tapes. I finally just bought this to add Firewire back to my system and it worked on the first try - no BIOS adjustments, no driver issues - my ADVC just showed up as a source in my capture software.
Met my needs in Windows 10

I researched this to make sure it would work with my desktop bios and Windows 10. I ended up rolling the dice and ordering it. I did have to do anything in bios but I did have to try three PCI slots before Device Manager recognized the card. Followed the driver update instructions on Adobe's site (How to manually install your Intel Graphics Driver in Windows 10).
I couldn't see it in VLC but Adobe Premiere worked. I have only transferred one tape from a Sony Digital8 camera (DCR-TVR330). So far, so good. I think it is good value for the price. Instructions could be more clear and I wish I knew why the 3rd PCI slot worked but 1 and 2 didn't.
