This thing is the bees knees! I used this and a 15Ah battery to convert a Huffy Nel Lusso bike into an ebike with a pillion seat. The pillion seat went through a few iterations until I finally used a bleacher seat, which my wife says is much more comfortable than any kid's seats that will be found here.
This conversion was a challenge to get just right but I was able to get it done. None of the challenge came from anything lacking from this kit in particular. Though, I do recommend purchasing a "rocker switch" from Amazon and fixing it to the handlebar beneath the throttle, where it seems to fit just right. The wiring of the switch can be connected to the "road legal switch wire" of the motor controller to make switching between the lower and higher wattage settings a breeze.
I must have done hundreds of miles on this thing by now, pulling me, my wife and the Nel Lusso frame which is a pretty weighty frame, all of us about 350 lbs all together. We use it just about daily during the summer when the weather is nice. The front hub is well complemented by the regular pedals on the bike and with the 15Ah battery, we can cruise for hours. Definitely recommend this piece of gear!

I installed this 1000 watt 48 volt kit on a 1980's Trek mountain bike. It has steel forks, but I installed heavy duty torque arms with double clamps on both sides. All the connectors from the motor had to be cut to get the torque arm on, but I needed to shorten the cables anyway so that wasn't a big problem. You do have to mount the tire on the rim even though in the sales photo it shows it mounted. That took an extra 30 minutes. I moved all the gear shifters to the left side of the handlebars. The twist grip is spring loaded and is very sensitive. I can walk beside the bike and give it just a little twist and it works perfect. I went ahead and plugged the two blue wires together to cut the power down to 750. I really couldn't tell the difference. Very strong. I weigh 200 lbs and this bike pulls my head back when I twist the throttle. After using for 10 minutes with 30, 40% throttle, neither the motor nor the controller was even warm to the touch. Never twist the throttle with the wheel turned, or on loose ground or you could wind up on the ground. Push button start stop and battery level indicator works perfectly. I didn't hook up the PAS sensor, and I only used one of the brake sensors. So far no issues. I ordered the 48volt battery off of Amazon. The battery weighs in at 10 lbs. total weight with battery 61 lb. So far no issues.

THIS IS A UPDATE TO MY FIRST REVIEW OF THIS KIT. I worked through the problem that I had with this kit and finally got everything to work. Customer support from the vendor is AWESOME. Also, I stick by my comment about using YouTube to complete this project. Most if not all the YouTube videos that I viewed contributed to the success of this installation. I have installed this kit on a trike and it is an amazing product that does exactly what it advertises. Thank You Yejing Store.

The kit (less the electrical connections) is fairly straight forward. After watching countless YouTube videos the fun part was hooking up the battery to the kit and the kit to the controller. The installation manual for wiring is pretty straight forward but unless you can see 20/20 you will need a magnifying glass to really see how the connectors are attached to the controller. I suggest a better idea is to use the YouTube tutorials to figure out which connector goes to which connector even though all the connectors are color coded. After finally getting everything connected and powered on the front wheel motor is DOA. I spent about 3 hours checking all the connections, etc. No power to the motor! I called a ebike bike store and explained my problem. They did not sound very reassuring that they could help me. So I have decided to return the kit (I will have to pay postage). The battery that I purchased I cannot return. I will try to sell it on Craigslist and recover some of my cost. The bike wheel kit is really nice and I am really disappointed that I couldn't get it to work. I have some $600.00 invested in this project. My only regret is that I should have gone to a local bike shop and have the job done professionally. The estimated price to do the job turnkey was $600.00 to 800.00. By the way I tried to install this system on a Trike.

This product took awhile to arrive. So plan on that.
Once it got here it wasnt to difficult to install even tho the instructions was not the best in the world.
A couple of things that could have been better. First a torque arm should come with the kit. Second the bag for the wires and Controls should be bigger.
Other than that the wheel is well made and performance is above average.

One of my best buys ever. I love my E-bike. I'd like to stress the importance of ordering a torque arm along with this kit. Maybe or 2 of them and put one on each side.
This kit has alot of power. You don't want to install without a torque arm .
Battery does NOT come with kit you have to order separately.
The only thing that would make it perfect is an on board screen that gives you a choice for pedal Assist power. This kit gives you all the power once you turn the pedals.
So upgrade to a kit with a display screen would be a wiser choice but this kit is fine if you want all power at the pedals. But you do have the option and not installing the PAS and just use the throttle and it will work just fine. As a matter of fact you have more control of the amount of juice you use by turning the throttle 1/3 ,2/3 or hammer it.
Top speed I got is 26mph which is pretty fast on a Bike.
I recommend this kit if you are interested in upgrading an older bike.
So close to perfect, but ultimately well worth the price.

First things first, lets be real clear. I've actually bought two of these. Not because the first one failed and I'm a glutton for punishment, but because I'm making a second bike for my wife to ride around on. So it's FAR from my complaints breaking the deal, there are just a couple things that rubbed me the wrong way. The worst thing is the little bag that comes with it to house the control mechanism. Its the worst. It's just a cheap bag with the wires hanging out the zipper. There's no reason why there can't be holes where the wires can come in and out in a well thought out way, or at least be big enough to house all the extra wires in addition to the actual control mechanism. Is it a big deal, no, I spent $15 on a new bag, problem solved, it just seemed silly is all.

All the rest of these things are more my fault than the fault of the product. The axle on the wheel is 10mm, my fork accommodated a 9mm axle, I made it work, it was just annoying. After making that discovery I went back to the product descriptions and it said it on there, I just didn't know to look for it.

The manual and directions were pretty useless, but the job was pretty straight forward.

The little rubber cap that covers the nut on the side where the wires come out doesn't fit... not even a little bit... I'm not even sure why it's there.

All that being said, I bought a used Santa Cruz mountain bike for a few hundred bucks, I bought this kit, and a $400 battery, a few other accessories, and at the end of it, I had a bike that cost about $1,000, and if I had bought a pre made bike with similar capabilities, it would probably have cost $5,000. I ride my bike to work and back twice a day now, it's a 3 mile ride one way, works like a champ. I'm more excited about going exploring local parks, I'm more inclined to ride my bike to run errands, and I get far more exercise than I would have without it. The blue wires that make the bike US compliant are an interesting thing. I've really glad that they're there. I've found that when the wires are disconnected (no longer compliant) that it basically turns the bike into a little electric motorcycle, probably goes about 25-30 miles per hour. At that speed, the peddling doesn't really contribute anything to your ride unless you're just getting stared from a stop, or going up a steep hill. I've found that when the bike is in compliant mode, that you can still peddle hard, and burn calories, and get everything that you're accustom to getting out of your ride, but without the worst part of bike rides (going up hills).

So, in conclusion. Does this product perfectly hit the nail on the head, no. Is it super amazing and a great addition to anyone who's curious about it?? Absolutely.
