I haven't had to really put the hood to work yet but I did run a few practice beads to make sure it worked. The head gear is comfortable and easy to adjust. The field of vision is fantastic and the response time is immediate. In my opinion this welding hood is a great buy and I would recommend it and plan to buy one for my daughter who is just learning to weld.

Sometimes things break. After several months, the auto darkening failed. I contacted customer service. (Don't call. Go to the website.) They were quick to respond via e-mail and resolved the issue within a couple days. They offered a replacement. I asked for a refund because I had already bought a replacement. So they issued the refund. I was very pleased.

Works great! Crazy considering how cheap it is. Adjustment dials work well and make sense. It can get VERY dark and can change VERY fast so do a few tack welds to dial it in for yourself. I don't weld for a living. I mostly do small projects or auto body. So I am generally making quick welds a few inches at a time. The reaction speed and darkness level are great. I took the "safe" way out and pre set it to max dark at the fastest setting then backed off from there. It was super sensitive and way too dark! Which is perfect! I'd rather have a helmet that gets too dark then not dark enough.
