I bought this for my Euro Dobermann thinking it was going to be the answer to my 90 lbs/1 yr old boy eating the interior of my Chevy Trailblazer. I don't know if I would trust him "alone" with this in the truck. He's smart and could pull a Houdini in no time...sooo...yeah. I think I'll get a stronger leather one for that, but that being said, this is a very nice muzzle if your dog will be with you. It's light weight and comfortable for them, yet it's really pretty tough and designed so they can receive treats through it and lap water if they want without it getting soaking wet...cause it's that rigid foam (think a pair of crocks but like 20 times stronger) about 1/4 inch thick and really well designed.
I suggest you get your dog ready for it before you try putting it on them. I took a couple of days and offered him treats through the mouth hole as a reward for sticking his nose in it. He got use to sticking his nose in and getting a treat so he didn't reject it when I hooked it up later that week. I just kept feeding him treats "Hannibal Lecter style" and he acted like he couldn't care less it was on. I'll use this in public places where folks are freaked out by the sight of a Dobermann. It should put them at ease while not making him too uncomfortable. We both like it!

Great for introduction to a muzzle

I have a 50 lb. 1 year old Husky/Samoyed/GSD mix. He hasn't worn a muzzle before this, and hates having things put on his neck or head. He eats things (toxic plants, food, trash) he shouldn't when on a walk though, and can sometimes be a little reactive/nippy when nervous, so I knew I needed to introduce a muzzle for safety when meeting new friends, taking him to dog-friendly stores where he tries to eat trash, and when I'm trying to groom him. He also has allergies that cause him to lick himself raw (even past the cone of shame!), so I figured this could be helpful while allowing those skin spots to heal.
I ordered up a size to allow for some pant room, but that makes the strap is slightly too long. I'll need to do some custom adjustment because of that, but otherwise, this seemed to work well size-wise. He pawed at it once or twice when I paused and he was able to realize it was on, but as long as I kept moving and gave him occasional treats, he tolerates it. I also did a lot of conditioning for a week before I ever strapped it on his head, dispensing treats through the muzzle and giving a "put your nose in" command. It's helpful that there's room to give treats through it, however, this does mean that he might be able to eat bad things through it too. I figure it at least creates a barrier that will make it harder, but if you have a true scavenger, you might need a different type of muzzle. I'm working on making a mesh guard for the front.
It seems pretty durable and easy to clean. I can't speak to the bite-prevention factor, as my guy is just a slightly nippy pup still, not truly aggressive, but if he was I might get a metal basket type muzzle instead.

This is much better than the vet muzzle. Sees to be more comfortable for my pit.
Perfect fit

After looking through the highs and the lows of the reviews I bought it for my 40lb golden puppy. Her nose is longer so my biggest hope to this thing working was the fit over durability since it is supposed to do what it does in the name and for the item it is. I want to leave a compliment on the perfect fit! I didn't have to make adjustments. I put it on her and she went wild trying to get break out but after a while she gave up.
I bought this because my girl is an aggressive chewer and biter. She will try to get anything she can touch! The muzzle isn't to torture her or punish her but teach her guidance in listening to my commands so she knows who is boss around here. With the muzzle on she's less destructive and she has listened more than before. Hopefully with time we can remove it completely!
The muzzle is hard plastic so I am slightly worried about durability however she is always watched when she has it on and she hasn't chewed through it. The straps sit well for it being a breakaway lock. For its purpose and good practices this muzzle came through! I recommend.
