For such a quality product, it is baffling that Focusrite is shipping their products with USB C cables that are defective. Entire youtube videos have been made on these things having crap USB C cables. Besides the crap cable, the device itself is great. I use mine to record bass lines and jam on Rocksmith and it works perfectly. Software is easy to set up and the build quality is great. It's got good knob-feel.

Docked a star because I almost hucked it across the room not understanding why it wasn't working at first. Focusrite, spend another $0.15 on a not garbage cable so you don't have people returning otherwise functional products.

I watched some videos before and after buying and there's some tips you should know about before just plugging it right in. It works fine with my podmic which is the only thing i got hooked up to it. The solo is perfect for me. Though if i were a musician, probably would have gone with the double.

The preamps in this have almost 70 decibels a gain, which means this will not struggle to power the most demanding of dynamic microphones, the first air mode adds a little bit of EQ which can make a darker microphone sound amazing the second air mode I don't particularly like as it really cuts out the mid-range and boost the highest and the lows and kind of makes it sound hollow on my voice

The software is very handy so you can control the gain from the knobs on the interface or right off the computer software which I think is awesome

The preamps give me a much more transparent sound and other preamps for example other interfaces I own seem to color the sound a little bit but they add a little something they alter the Sun that would say the word this one just sounds very neutral and transparent like it's not changing the sound at all

If you check out the Danny lightning audio tech channel on YouTube you can see this compared to a couple of other units I also did a review video and something about the software so you might want to check that out as well but I'll tell you what can I so far I'm very happy with this I just wish they would add a monitor mix and it'd be nice if the software gave you a little number so you can see if you're at like zero 50 80 100 and so on on the game if you know what I'm saying those are the only two complaints but besides those two things and not really liking the second air mode the overall sound quality is very good and I'm very happy with the unit I mainly use a sure sm7b most of the time but I have quite a few different microphones, I used to always EQ my Acura estimate 7B but with this unit I just turn on the first air know that I don't feel like I need to do any further EQ adjustments which is awesome so yeah I really like this thing
