For those who can't get to the course/range enough

I have a goal and that's to get to my handicap I had in my 20s. Aside from all the other things that have changed in the last 20+ years, like not being as fit, not recovering as quickly, etc., I'm learning the biggest thing I don't have like I did back then is time. I don't make the time to practice like I did when I had all the time in the world and hit the range every day and play a round 3-4 times a week.

To help me to my goal, I got this and a launch monitor, a golf net, some foam balls, and a hitting mat. This is to help me understand and shape my swing. I don't fall under the folks that think I need to have the perfect form or beautiful swing like Rory or be able to hit irons without divots like Tiger, but I wanted to understand my swing better so I could make actual adjustments to what I have going on and not change my entire swing. It does that and more.

I did a baseline measurement with the launch monitor out at the range. My shots were averaging about 80% with a right hook or slight draw, with only around 20% going straight or slight left. My shot spread was all over the place. After practicing with this daily for just over two weeks, and understanding what I was tending to do, I worked on the swing analysis, along with playing lots of simulation rounds, and went back for a checkup with the launch monitor. In that short time, my ratios had changed to 30% right hook or fade, more of which fading instead of trying to circle back around like a boomerang and the other 70% going straight with a couple offsets that were slight left. My distance picked up by 10-15 yards for each club and the spread was quartered, laterally and distance. Since I've been using it still, those statistics are getting even better each month.

If you get this with the expectation that the tour will be outside your house with your card, you're dreaming. Those guys are insanely good. If you want to have something you can use at home to hone your swing and understand exactly what your swing is doing: this is the purchase you should make. Super easy to set up, super easy to play a round or go to the virtual range, super cheesy graphics on the course and the voices, but it works with E3 so if you want good virtual golf, you're covered there too. That part isn't anything I wanted from it but I'm not one to judge. Great, great tool.
This purchase saved me a ton of money!

Hands down the Phigolf simulator is a no brainer purchase. I have been searching for a golf sim and have considered spending a LOT more money on a SkyTrak or Memo. I am so glad I did not! Phigolf works beautifully. I received it yesterday and after getting it setup (took 10 min) I played round after round for three hours! It is too much fun. I think the reason some people are having latency problems is their phones are too slow. This software in loaded and executed on an Android phone or iPhone, not a computer. You have to setup screen sharing of your phone screen to your tv which does have some latency but not enough to spoil the fun. I personally think the accuracy is fine. It's not going to have the same precision as a $2000 SkyTrak but it simulates my swings fine. The only con I can find is when playing on the WGT courses, putting is very bad. The Phigolf courses work better. You can setup a "concede" circle for putting and it works great. NO golf simulator does a good job with putting. Not even the very expensive ones. So do yourself a favor and buy one of these. You will forget about shelling out two grand for a SkyTrak.
GREAT Product, despite some technical glitches

First of all, I'm not giving this 5 stars solely because of technical glitches. The WGT app has a fair amount of trouble reading the sensor initially. I've had problems with WGT crashing, and when it does, it doesn't save your round. And to get back, you have to go through
But that is pretty much it for the negatives where it hasn't met my expectations. As far as actual play, it has greatly exceeded them.
Accuracy "“
1. Club Distances "“ There are complaints about it giving lower distance than in real life. I found this to be true, until I realized that without an actual ball to hit, I was subconsciously not accelerating through the ball. I also saw a video review of someone saying the distances were way off. But he was only swinging about at about 65%. It may not be natural to swing like you're hitting a real ball, but once I did that, I've found the distances to be VERY close to what I hit in real life "“ certainly WAY, WAY better than I expected for something that only costs $250. Note I am using the stick, not a real club.
2. Shot Shape "“ I kept pulling to the left. What I learned is that if you rotate your club after addressing your club, this changes the face angle. That allows more many more possible shots, though I haven't explored this completely. It did read a punch shot that I did out of the trees, which was a very pleasant and unexpected surprise. Because it assumes you hit the club in the center, you aren't going to get really bad slices or hooks, but given that the courses to play are some of the hardest in the world, it's probably for the best.
3. Short Game "“ Putting is much more sensitive than in real life. Even changing to slow greens doesn't seem to matter. It's pretty easy for me to make nearly every 5 ft put, but the long putting is very touchy. It's a very fine line between sending a put 25 ft, and sending it 60. Below 25, it seems pretty consistent. A technically accurate chip shot doesn't seem to work, so I use a light pitch instead.
4. Rough and Sand Play "“ there doesn't seem to be any distance penalty on these, so they might as well be grass. That's not unlike a commercial simulator that I have been to.
Overall Realism - I shoot about 100-110 most real-life rounds, and about 95-100 on this, so overall, betwen more give and and some take, it's reasonably close. I play better from afar than in real life, but four-putting a couple holes per round because I was initially very far away is my usual downfall.

Yes, if you are a low handicapper trying to fine tune your game, this wouldn't be for you. If you are more recreational and would really like to have a very fun and satisfying golf fix, this is a GREAT bargain.
Easy setup

Extremely easy to setup. Isn't nearly as accurate or as good of picture quality as it should be for the price but don't regret buying. Good simulator if you don't have a bunch of money to sink into one

We purchased this for my son almost a year ago and I overall he really enjoys it as do I. We are fairly new to golf so I think it is more of a entertainment piece but with that being said we play it to have fun but I've found it's a good way for him to check his fundamentals such as feet placement, hand placement, bringing your head and chest over the ball, sticking your butt back and out and finishing on the toe . I use it for these things as well and I can say that I think it has helped me in those areas but it's like any piece of equipment it's how you use it and how often.
Setup and getting it going are simple. I use android and just screen mirror to tv. Note that my fire stick isn't new enough or updated enough to run the app. Originally I could but it's just not currently on the update to run it.
It's just like any other piece of technology. It gets finicky at times where I get kicked off or response time is slow but that's not the norm. Overall response time is good.
I don't think the accuracy is spot on but it's consistent in how it does it so you can still gain info from those stats that are helpful. If you want to figure out your distance with certain clubs I would go to a range.

Customer service has been fine . There is a delay but it's in south korea so reasonable expectations should be thought of in that area.

Overall it's a great training aid / entertainment piece. The company is updating the app on s regular basis and has a active facebook group they participate in. I'm happy with our purchase and has helped myself and my son not only gain some skils in a new sport but bond over something as well.
