This blu-ray release of Richard Stanley's underrated, zany debut film is fantastic! First of all, if you've never seen this movie and are a fan of post-apocalyptic science fiction movies, you need to get this ASAP! This movie is great! It deserves a far bigger cult following than it has. It's a fantastic, low-budget, post-apocalyptic, sci-fi horror film featuring a young Dylan McDermott and Stacy Travis. Richard Stanley did an amazing job building an interesting post-apocalyptic world on a minuscule budget. Also, thanks to his own unique aesthetic and proclivities, the movie has some interesting and fun quirks, especially in its character design and music choices. Music featured includes: Ministry, Motörhead, and Public Image Ltd., as well as cameos by Lemmy Kilmister, Iggy Pop, and Gwar (in the form of one of their music videos).
This blu-ray release features a new 4K scan of the film, a fantastic commentary with Richard Stanley, two interviews with Richard Stanley, an interview with Iggy Pop, a making of documentary, deleted and extended scenes, and three of Richard Stanley's early short films, including an early Super 8 version of Hardware.
Hardware is an underrated 90's gem from a director who should have been given the opportunity to make more movies, and this blu-ray release from Ronin Flix is THE version to own! Highly Recommended!
