My New Multimeter

My HF multimeter gave up the ghost this morning. So, I decided to get a new one from Amazon. I was astounded when it arrived the same day. Well done, Mr. Bezos. The meter is well put together, has features my defunct mm did not have. Nice big digital display, easy to read and it even has a backlight, should I need it. A built in flashlight, for Pete's sake! A little back leg so the meter can stand up. Nice. The probes are well made and come with guards for probing in close quarters. A temperature probe that works. A no contact live circuit sensor! It even came with two AA batteries so I can use the meter right away. Not a lot to dislike here, the only diappointment was the lack of a carrying case for the lower priced model which is the one I got. I had to spend another 16+ bucks for a hard case, again on Amazon. All in all, I think this meter will do everything I need. We'll see how well she holds up. Stay tuned.

It's always good to do your research. I found that this was the best one through mostly YouTube reviews. From what I remember, the product manufacturer even has their own YouTube channel, but it's been awhile since I've checked.

Primero que todo, me ha gustado el producto, he utilizado variedades de multÃmetro nacionales, pero este me llamo la atención por la cantidad de opciones que trae, pero teniendo el producto en casa, es mucho mejor de lo que esperaba. Comencemos, la presentación de la caja me parece muy buena y llamativa, una cosa que faltarÃa por agregar al contenido de la caja serÃa un bolsillo o funda para guardar el multÃmetro, pero continuemos, me gusta el protector en goma (caucho) que trae el dispositivo, el acceso a la baterÃa es muy fácil y sencillo, el manual es sencillo pero conciso en su contenido; realice varias mediciones y me han parecido aceptables, no tengo equipos para realizar una inspección técnica y detallada de las mediciones del equipo, pero me ha parecido muy bueno. Un toque espectacular son las luces, que te indican donde ubicar los cables, ha sido algo espectacular que no he visto en otros multÃmetros. Quedaré pendiente de la evolución de este elemento. Lo utilizaré mucho en mi ambiente, el cual, son estudiante de ingenierÃa mecánica y trabajo en el sector, además lo utilizaré para mi casa, veremos como se desenvuelve este equipo. Lo recomendaré en un futuro.
Nice meter/ User Manual is lacking

My last multimeter used banana jack connectors on the leads. When I first opened the package from
Kaiweets I could not figure out how their leads attached to the meter. I referred to the manual and
found nothing. I went to the internet and learned that there were small caps that needed to be
removed from the connectors. Now, what about the other leads. Back to YouTube to learn that these
we're thermistors used for measuring temperature.
Next, I attempted to install the batteries. The user manual says battery (singular) and says remove two
screws after removing a rubber sleeve. My meter has one visible screw and no rubber sleeve. Obviously
these instructions are for a different model than HT118A. Back to the internet to see the proper instructions.
I think the user manual should have photos of both sets of leads, complete with descriptions, catalog numbers, and instructions for removing the protective caps. The user manual should also have the
correct instructions for installing the two AA batteries.
Also, there is no such word as fastly, which was used a few times in the manual. (Fast is both and adjective and adverb and does not need the -ly)
I rate the meter as 5 stars but the poorly written manual gets 3 stars.

Are you an industrial tech, electrician or need your DVM outdoors? -You probably should buy the $$$ meters. However, particularly for a bench meter, this multimeter is thrilling for what it can do and how well the functions are thought out. (I did not compare readings with my collections of Flukes & HPs & such - it's probably good enough.) Anyhow, I am having fun with this new Kaiweets and the display is ideal compared to all my meters. -Highly recommended for a personal electronics bench (don't get it wet). It's very impressive so far. Super cool! (I'll try to report on its longevity in another 40 years.)
