After a quick adjustment I fell in love with this jump rope. The rope is actually longer than 9 ft. This is good if you're on the taller side. I tied 2 knots, 1 on each side, to get my rope to my preferred length, 8'11" minus the handles. I'm 5'6" and I like my rope slightly longer than recommended. I tied knots instead of cutting so can keep the rope as heavy as possible and so I can make quick adjustments to length. I've cut my rope too short in the past and once you cut it you can't uncut it. The rope itself feels very good to turn. The handles feel comfortable and the weight of the rope gives me a lot of feedback while not being too heavy. The rubber strip around the handles might not be adequate if you get sweaty hands. I wrapped bar tape around the handles for grip and comfort. Tennis tape would also get the job done. At $24 dollars it's a great value. If I can get a year out of it I'll be happy. I love this rope and it's definitely my favorite thus far. I hope you found this review helpful.

So I took up jump roping while the pandemic. I've been at it for a little over 2 months now. I initially bought a speed rope and 2 weeks ago I decided I wanted to try a weighted rope for more muscle toning.. It was a big transition from the speed rope to this. I must say it's not for everyone. I would have never thought that 1 lb could make such a difference. It's taken me 2 weeks to get up to 180 jumps at a time ( 7 sets a day }. My wife tried it once and said I was crazy. You definitely feel it in your forearms The rope itself is sturdy and well built. I find the handles to be a tad short and slippery as they're metal but like the fact that you can unscrew the bottom and fill with sand for extra weight. I haven't tried adjusting the length as it was good for me upon arrival. Overall I'm really happy with my purchase and would recommend this product to friends.

I have a regular thing 'speed' jump-rope, and then I have this one. They're fun to alternate. 1 lb doesn't feel like much (and it isn't), but over the course of a couple minutes of jump-roping, you can tell. The jump rope is good quality and easily adjustable, and comes with all the equipment necessary to do that. I'm happy with the product and performance. One thing I didn't anticipate... when this thing hits you (and it invariably will), it HURTS. A lot more than a dinky little speed jump-rope. So, just expect that next time you misstep and it smacks you in the leg. It'll force you to improve your technique to avoid the pain.
