The shorter piece is plenty sturdy, but when it comes to the longer one, it is flimsy and would not hold the weight of a piggy without bending down. This product would work well for mice and birds.

didn't use it as a bridge more as a divider. to help keep the bedding supported for my hamster burrowing. worked pretty nicely! would make a great bridge as well for my hamster.
