I have Kitchenaid fridge. In less that two years a tiny piece of plastic snapped on a BREAD drawer. Not a stressed item. $150 to the folks at Whirlpool for a TINY piece of plastic. Put it this way, in the land of materials science I don't want Whirlpool / Kitchenaid involved in a NASA mission to Mars.
Oh, but not this chopper critter. It chops. It holds up. It liquifies practially with three or four hand pumps. Whatever grade plastic they use, (the metal blades are SUPER sharp) holds up.
I'd reccomend this chopper to ANYONE.

PS - I really like my OXO Stainless Steel Salad Spinner as well.
