Halfway done, so far a fun kit with clean, well fitting parts. I recommend.

I've been hoping for a decent model of the'70 AAR Cuda for decades ,and it seems like I finally got one!. The first 2 Revell versions had embarassingly inaccurate bodies. When Revell came out with their new Hemi Cuda in 2013, I bought one and hoped that they would eventually release an AAR version, but when I heard that Revell went out of business, I gave up all hope of ever seeing it. I just happened to see this new model by chance while on ebay and had to get it.

Upon opening it the first thing that I noticed was the really thin, soft cardboard used in the box; probably not great for long time storage. The plastic is hard glossy white unlike the softer plastic used in Revell's previous USA kits. The detailing in the kit is excellent, but with the same Revell softness compared to the hard edges of Tamiya kits; especially in the area of the chrome trim around the windows and the door seams. Fit and finish are excellent. The decals are superb, except for the dashboard gauges that seem to be a little out of register and hard to see once applied. The only thing that's missing is positional front wheels. Painting the body correctly is not an easy task as it requires you to mask out body areas in order to paint them flat black. The flat black areas around the tailights look to be an especially challenging task. I haven't got that far yet, as all my local hobby shops are gone now and I'll probably have to order my paint online. I heartily recommend this kit along with the Hemi Cuda version for anyone interested in this subject matter.

This kit was so nice to build. There is some mold lines on the body that need addressed, but flash was almost nonexistent. The directions are simple to follow and very clear. The decals went on nice too. I honestly think this was my favorite build ever because of how well it all fit.

Packaged well. Just as described. Came early as a bonus!
