It's a very nice portfolio and the writing pad does indeed reverse for ease of writing left-handed. However, anything stored on the opposite side is upside down and will probably fall out when in use. Too bad that side isn't manufactured neutral, then this would be perfect!

After carefully reading the reviews for the Wondermax and checking many other brands, I decided to purchase this portfolio. Nothing however prepared me for the "real thing." It surpasses all of my expectations. The many open pockets, slots for cards, and pen holders reflect a well designed product. I use a Rocketbook to take notes while sitting on the couch watching videos. I was looking for a portfolio to hold my Rocketbook, Mini Mister, microfiber cloth plus a few pens and several overhead projector templates. And it was important to have it look nice on the coffee table when not in use. Having portability without loosing it's contents was also necessary. I love my Rocketbooks and take notes easily while sitting at a table. But a Rocketbook on my lap was rather awkward. I need a firm surface and this portfolio has it. Several inside pockets and sections to easily hold handouts make this notebook easy to use. It has three pen holders which are handy. I like being able to zip it up when not in use and an outside pocket is handy when I am on the run.
Yes, it isn't real leather. But honestly, I chose the black and it looks very much like fine leather if that's your style. It wipes off nicely and is stitched well. Who cares if it is leather or not? The zippers work smoothly and keep the contents together. For the price it is a steal! It comes in a very nice box that makes wrapping for gifting easy. I am pleased with my purchase and couldn't ask for more.

I am really impressed with this pad folio. I continued to use my old one way past it's usable life because I loved it and could not bring myself to part with it. However, when I began leaving small pieces of it on conference tables and client kitchen tables, I knew it was time. I researched for days looking for exactly what I wanted. I am very happy to report that I have found a worthy replacement that is actually better than the previous one and I could not be happier. Thank you for a high quality, great looking, and very useful product!

After years of pulling my rumpled, sometimes stained or ripped sketchbook out of my bag, I decided enough was enough. As an illustrator, my sketchbook goes everywhere with me, and taking it in and out of my bag all the time takes a toll. I'd seen these types of portfolios be used by fancy business people to keep their fancy business documents nice, so I figured what the heck? What's the difference between a sketchbook and a coil-bound shareholder report?

I was actually really worried initially that there wouldn't be a side-loading inner pocket. The product specs boast that the top-loading inner pocket can hold any size of notebook, but as much as I looked I couldn't get a square answer as to whether there even WAS a place to insert a notebook bound on the long side instead of the short. I took a leap of faith and ordered it anyway, since I liked the zipper and the simple but effective pocket layout. It turns out that you absolutely CAN fit a long-edge-bound notebook in this, and that it actually works quite well! My sketchbook fit perfectly and it stays secure, not moving around or getting stuck. When I took it on an international trip, it managed to survive three weeks of travel and being haplessly shoved into my backpack without so much as a scratch, a pulled zipper, or a broken seam. It was a huge relief to know that my sketchbook was protected.

I would also recommend this product if you have a sketchbook because the pockets are excellent for holding art supplies! It's really nice being able to just pull out my portfolio and start working instead of having to hunt down a pencil or dig through my case for an eraser or replacement lead. It also made drawing in small contained spaces like airplanes a little more convenient, since all of my supplies were in easily accessible pockets and not (where they usually are) tucked into my hair, my pockets, or falling between the seats. I also use the business card slots to hold my own business cards, as well as any cards from artists I meet out in the world.

Overall, I've been very pleased with this product! I had mixed expectations going in, but I am very glad I bought this. I would highly recommend this product to other artists of all kinds of you use a pencil and paper at all, and even if not, there's a pocket for your iPad. :)

I got the black version it is very sleek I was not expecting this to be as great as it is!!! It's made so well and has so many pockets and spots for keeping pens and cards. Just what any student, professional, or teacher needs! It is made really well and looks super expensive!
