When I first started looking at trolling motors, I was shocked how many still use brush motors! Brushless motors are smaller, quieter, last longer and are more efficient. The motor also has a built in power management system.

i paid about 200 for this a year ago and it was very powerful and convenient with the tilting, slide out tiller the motor starting making whining noise and worked for several hours more. the bearings must have gone out. i used it quite a bit, about weekly year round for average of an hour each time in a lake fresh water.
