I loved that it was soft and doesn't seem to bother my daughter much when she wears it, she has BESS so she needs protection for a little while to prevent brain injury.
The helmet came with padding to add in for smaller babies, but we never needed it.
After wearing for a while it seems to mold to the shape of your babies head, so I was only adjusting it and pulling it down for a while.
I really liked the safety strap, just like a cat collar: if helmet got stuck on something the elastic strap stretches and the Velcro comes off. Initially I thought it wasn't secure but you make it tight with the adjustable overlapping helmet Velcro, NOT the chin strap!
