The width of the two sides are not the same.

The product description lacks full details about the width of the roof plain versus the width of the wall plain. Code requirement is 4" x 4": this unit is 4' wide for the wall but only 3" wide for the roof. Standard sized step flashing will not work with this unit because the curb (that lies beneath the shingle) doesn't match that of a step flashing. The step flashing lies over the kickout diverter flashing, but with this item that won't work. The description is correct about the length: 9-1/4" long. The product is well made, was delivered on time, neatly packaged, but it doesn't look like is will work (well) with standard sized galvanized step flashing.
