Prius dash fix

Used for the infamous Prius dash light fix. Been holding up for more than a month in hot weather. Good to go. Not the easiest solder job, but doable - don't be discouraged, just do it!
Prius Combination Meter Fix
L. Desmond✓ Verified Purchase•October 26, 2023
got quoted ~$3500 to have the instrument cluster (combination meter) replaced in our 2006 Toyota Prius. spent under 4 hours doing the repair ourselves. we needed a phillips-head screwdriver, a 10mm and 12mm socket (pretty sure those are the sizes) + a socket extension, needle nose plyers, a soldering iron, electronics solder, rosin soldering flux (maybe not mandatory, but recommended), and some non-marring trim removal tools. we did the repair on a hot day, which i think may have helped prevent breaking of any of the aging plastic parts. keeping track of which screws and electrical connectors go where was not nearly the headache i was expecting. putting the car back together probably took less than half an hour.
Worked perfectly!

Bought these to fix the dashlights on my 06 prius. Worked perfectly. The most time consuming part was the initial taking the dash apart. Extreme caution and finess must be used to remove the grey vent covers on each side of the radio/screen cluster and the two ends. The plastic gets extremely brittle especially if your car sits in the sun all day. I broke one of mine at the thinnest part, luckely, aftermarket replacments are readily available and not too much money. The average person my struggle a bit but if mechanicaly inclined its pretty easy.
Hate Soldering
Richard A. Goins✓ Verified Purchase•September 8, 2023
If I was any good at soldering, this may have been simple. Even with excellent solder & flux. Lead on side of unit is very small target. But unit performed perfectly, fixing a costly repair. Sorry I had to loose one star for aggravation.
It works
