Really nice piece of furniture

I was hesitant to buy this because of a few bad reviews but I am very glad I bought it anyways! It turned out to be a quality piece of furniture (heavy too). I think that anyone who complains of this not being sturdy had issues with putting it together because mine is rock solid. My husband and I lifted it by the two holes on the back and the lid and had zero sense that anything was coming loose.

Because it is so heavy, it was a little difficult to get in from the front porch by myself. It took me, a small and relatively handy gal, and hour and a half start to finish to assemble this. You don't need any power tools- just a Phillips screwdriver. Any other tools you need are included. The instructions were very clear and include both diagrams and written directions. I put the whole thing together by myself but there is one small part where it could be helpful to have an extra set of hands, but if you are able-bodied and careful, you can do it without help. The wood does feel like and look like solid wood, so if it is a veneered compressed board, it doesn't feel like it.

The right side of the cabinet does have addition storage for records if you choose to have both shelves close together at the top. There are two holes for cords on the back- one in the record player side and one on the other half. I have an Audio Technica record player and it fit with some wiggle room. If you have one of those suitcase players it probably wouldn't fit. I have around 50 records and have room for my collection to grow. I love that they will be able to be stored free from dust when the cabinet doors are closed.

If you are looking for a really nice cupboard for your record player, this is it. I can see myself having this cabinet for a very long time. It is just as nice as my buffet table that I bought from a furniture store. A+!
Impressive!

The price was right so we took a chance and are thrilled. It's a solid piece of furniture and honestly one of the easiest pieces of RTA I've ever assembled. I was able to do it alone as well. The tip provided in another review about pre-screwing the screws for the hinges was priceless and I recommend it as well.
Beautiful Media Cabinet

My cabinet actually came in with a chipped lid, but the seller made it right straight away and sent me a new lid at my request. Unfortunately, I noticed a small surface scratch on my replacement, but it's nothing extreme. Just be sure to note that you're buying at your own risk with Amazon furniture, but this seller is very communicative and will accommodate any issues with your order.

I love this cabinet! It's exactly what I was looking for to start and store my vinyl collection. I don't think this is solid wood like many in the reviews are staying so, because the chip I had on the original lid piece looked like particle board or something with the way it was breaking apart.

The color is rich and the entire build is sturdy. I built it on my own in 3 hours but if you can grab help, I think it'll go by much quicker.

**PLEASE NOTE: Don't make the same mistake I did! The way you install the top track for the sliding door matters! The letter should be facing away from you, out of view after installing or you'll have to loosen it all up again (I was exhausted!)
Love it but disappointed it came damaged

Love the product exactly what I was looking for however it came damaged. Of course the damage was on the front side where everyone can see it as well. Disappointed about that otherwise love it!
Finally a home for my records

I have had this storage cabinet for one week now and I love it even more then the first day.
First of all this thing is heavy. I believe it weighs 104lbs. The delivery person might not be happy with your choice but so is life.
This came very well packaged with foam and cardboard protection. The box had a puncture but the foam protected the contents perfectly.
Once opened you will notice that all the pieces are individually wrapped in foam sheets which did a great job of protecting the finish.
The instructions are easily followed and all pieces are labeled well. The panels are held together with cam locks and wooden dowels. I have read some reviews where people complained that the cam locks were not working well. I did not find that to be the case at all. Everything went together as expected without issues. I took the extra step to glue the pieces together with the wooden dowels.
The entire setup took me about 2 hours to complete but it was really easy. Since it is 104 lbs you may need assistance with the final assembly. I assembled this by myself and had no problems.
I also read where people had issues attaching the hinges to the lid. Do yourself a favor and lay the lid flat on a table and screw the screws part of the way into the predrilled holes in the lid. Remove the screws and now go ahead and attach the hinges into the lid. The screws will go in so much easier.
I am using this with my Audio Technica AT-LP60 turntable. It fits very well even with the dust shield attached. The turn table area has a hole in the back where the wires are fed through. I must have received an updated model because my unit also has an additional hole in the left side of the cabinet.
Many people complained that they wanted to use the left side for their stereo components but they would need to cut a hole. This unit now has a hole pre-drilled.
So far I have about 75 records stored in the right side. I still have some room left for more. Eventually I might need to use the left side as well for record storage.
I hope this review helps anyone who is considering purchasing this cabinet.
