I like this brand of hair color conditioner. I compare my experience to my long-time use of Aveda Clove -- they discontinued Aveda Clove and I was quite sad about that as it was my 'go-to' for those times I wanted to add a boost of color to my not-dyed (natural-color) hair. However, I did a lot of research and gave a lot of thought and read a lot of reviews before I picked dpHue, as I wanted something close to Aveda Clove, or even better. In some ways this is better than Aveda Clove in that it puts much more shine and body to my hair.

My hair looks gorgeous the day of, so I like to use it if I am going out or have something special to do.

I have medium-dark brown hair with some grey sprinkled throughout. This hair conditioner adds a deeper tone to my hair and gives it beautiful body and bounce and shine. It tones down my greys so they aren't as noticeable but of course doesn't cover them completely - but I have a lot more dark hair than grey so that helps.

Also a positive is it does not turn my hair reddish - that's why I picked the cool instead of the warm. The color actually beats out Aveda Clove in that Clove sometimes could look a little reddish or a little too dark.

I only left this on so far anywhere between 3 minutes and 5 minutes. I used a cap while in the shower so I didn't accidentally rinse it away. I am going to try leaving it in longer to see how my results are now that I know it doesn't cause damage or make my hair too dark.

I wish it lasted longer but I can't remember if Clove lasted longer than this brand or not. It'll last through maybe 4 shampoos, maybe. The shine and bounce really only last the first two shampoos while the color gradually but quickly fades over the next few days. But it is gentle enough to use frequently if you choose to do that. I use it maybe once a week or every 2 weeks. And, perhaps leaving it in longer will give me longer results.

I will order again. And in fact, I really want to try the clear dpHue to see how it works in my hair.

It's a little pricey but you often have just what you pay for so I don't mind paying more for quality.

I am a natural redhead but I miss the vibrant color I had when I was young. I decided to have my hairstylist add hair color but I never loved the results. Plus it was expensive and only lasted a few weeks before it faded.
Since I have only a few strands of gray, I decided to go natural. I am 75 years old and didn't want a crazy red but did feel I needed a little more red.
I picked the Strawberry Blonde because it is closest to my natural color.
The results are perfect. My husband thought I looked younger but did not know what was different. The color is very natural looking and the shine is gorgeous. I feel like I got back the color of my youth.

I have some grey hairs and I have very thin fragile hair. I would have to go to the salon every 4 weeks to keep up with the grays, which would cost so much money. I also don't want to constantly put hard permanent dye on my already thin damaged hair.

My sister recommended this as she got it from Ulta.

My hair usually always pulls red, so I purchased the cool medium brown. (I'm thinking of also getting the black and mixing it in with the cool brown)

I was concerned as I read from some reviews that this didn't cover the grays.

I also read that you can put straight on dry hair like they do in the salon vs what the instructions say after shampooing.
I took the chance and applied it on my DRY hair. I bought some plastic gloves and focused a lot on my front where all the grey was. I put it on my gray hairs first then pulled it through into the rest of my hair. When I was done I went back to my gray hairs that were sticking up and put a good about of the product on them. I put a shower cap on and left it in for a good 25-30 minutes.

I washed it all out in cold water and then also applied the John Frieda Brilliant brunette conditioner and combed through and left that on for 3-5 minutes.

After I let my hair sit dry and I noticed ALL my grays were gone!!! Amazing!!! I wish I took a before picture.

I'm going to probably do this process every 3 weeks but continue the JF BB conditioner every time I shampoo to hold in the dark brown and help it from fading.

I used about a 1/3 of the bottle and my hair is just past my shoulders. I could probably get 3-4 uses out of the bottle.

I only gave 4 stars because I'm waiting to see how quickly this fades/washed out.

As someone who is actively trying to avoid putting box dye on their hair; this was a great alternative.
Full disclosure: I have greys, does this product completely cover the grey hairs- no. But it does make them less noticeable and I'll take that. It gives a nice boost of color to my hair which lasts for a few days - depending on how often you wash it. Give it a try.

My hair: damaged, coarse and bleached. I recently had my hair colored red after being a blonde since 2018. Since I moved to my new home last year, I noticed my hair was feeling harder and looking darker after just one or 2 washes after redoing my hair. I realized my water was the problem so I installed a new filter for my shower head. But my hair was too damaged so I decided to go red and give bleaching my hair a break. But we had to bleach the top, which had been a shadow root to even the entire red color all over my head. But wow that last time of bleaching left my hair soooo damaged and brittle. I've never experienced so much breakage. I had been using Olaplex for a few years so my hair was healthy before moving to my new home. So that's the hair I started with before using this product"”hard, brittle, breaking off easily, stiff and rough to the touch and extremely porous. In other words"”terrible! My red hair washed out ridiculously fast!

This product: after reading many reviews here and watching many YouTube videos, I decided to give this a try. I didn't want to color my hair again since it's only been 3 months since I went red. First, I can't really afford that and second, I don't want any more damage. I used the auburn one. I used it wrong the first time around and was so disappointed because it's so expensive. But I read a review and took that person's advice. I applied it as a hair dye with a brush on my my roots first. I left it for ten minutes and then applied it to the rest of my hair. At this point, I used almost a whole bottle because I had already used it before. I was so scared to see what would turn out. But woah! I was blown away by how soft and bouncy my hair felt after all the damaged I had recently experienced. I couldn't believe it, but not only that, the color looks amazing! It's exactly the color I was going for without the added damage. I haven't washed it yet so I willl have to update with that information. What a great way for me to keep my color without causing damage to my hair. I'm so excited I found this and a thank you to the person who explained how to use it correctly. It works like a charm!!
