We only used this with the rechargeable battery on a camping trip. We used it to hang up in the center of the pop-up shade tent (rain protection tent) in the evening that we sat under. The rechargeable battery life wasn't as long as we had hoped. We got one evening out of it where it gradually got dimmer (but never died). Since we did not use the disposable batteries also, I don't know how much longer/ how much more use we would have gotten. Overall pleased. We didn't try plugging it into the solar powered charging station the next day, so a lot of unknowns still. We still used it the next night, but only so we could see inside the sleeping tent at night for brief periods only. We will continue to use for our weekend camping trips.

These are great lanterns. They are very bright and light and don't take long to charge. It is so nice to be able to use 3 AA batteries when needed. So much nicer than our old lantern the same size that took 6 D batteries and was so heavy. These take care of everything: lantern, flashlight, emergency signals. The ability to use with a charge or batteries really make it our go to. The magnet bottom makes it easy to use. The customer service was very helpful when ours came missing the cords. It was nice getting 2 so my husband and I could each have one on our recent camping trip.

The lanterns are small when not in use (they collapse), and are very bright when is use. The selling point for me was the possibility of using either the USB internal rechargeable battery or any AA batteries.
