When I buy a product, I expect it to perform as advertised. So I only write reviews when a product underperforms or -- in rare cases -- when a product exceeds my expectations. This #HWK Leather Motorcycle Jacket fits the latter category ...it far exceeded my expectations! I've been riding E-Bikes on and off road for more than a year now and have had a few spills. After recently getting a road rash on my elbow (and tearing my nylon jacket) I decided to try a leather motorcycle jacket with built-in armor. At this price, I wasn't sure if it would be genuine leather, but as soon as I opened the package, the smell alone confirmed this IS genuine leather. When I put it on, I could immediately feel the armor on the elbows, shoulders and back. Additionally, it completely blocks the wind (better than any windbreaker or jacket I've used during the past year of riding E-Bikes). I feel VERY safe wearing this at 30+ mph. It also has external pockets with rugged and reliable zippers AND it has internal vest pockets with Velcro seals that are perfect for smartphones of any size. It is a bit short, but that's normal for a motorcycle jacket. I like going for long night rides and, even on cold winter nights, this jacket has made a world of difference. I wish I bought it a year ago. It also looks cool! I am extremely impressed with this product (and that's a rarity). #HWK is now my go-to brand for protective E-Bike gear.

Good sturdy leather. Metal zippers. Fits around the waist and shoulders nicely. It is cut nicely around the waist and is not narrow. Comes with shoulder back and elbow pads, which are stiff and basically uncomfortable. They are removable. I write a cruiser and I think with the pads is more for a sport bike. Once I took them out, the jacket was a lot more comfortable. Leather is a little stiff, but I will condition it to soften it up. Good thickness on leather.

Tell you what. This jacket for $60 is a great deal. It's real leather with quality stitching and heavy duty zippers. It's padded at the shoulders, back and elbows. I took out the shoulder pads because they felt awkward but left the elbows and back pads. It's also pleated on the back to allow forward reach to the handlebars. I would consider this a medium weight jacket. A little heavy for summer and maybe a little light for winter unless you wore winter clothes under. My usual size fit except for the aforementioned shoulder pads. I thought about sending it back because I already have a Highway 21 Murtaugh that's perfect for winter and just ordered and received a Wilson's vented light weight leather riding jacket for summer use but this thing looks so good, fits so good and is so inexpensive I have to keep it. It will be great in spring and summer. At this price I thought there must be a catch. If there is one I don't see it.

It's 2nd winter wearing here in Central Florida. It has worn well without any stitching, zipper or leather problems. Non-removable quilted liner. Warm enough down into the 40s.
It's a large. For fitting, I had heard it was an "American Cut", supposedly for the average American belly. I'm 65 years old, 5'8" and 165 pounds, muscular. So, yes it's a big around the middle, fine in the chest and somewhat tight in the arms if that helps you decide on the fit.
