Fits around my belly. Can hold comfortably all at once: car keys, cell phone, chapstick, bank cards, cash, 1 diaper, a handful of wet wipes, applesauce pouch, lollipop AND my toddlers sippy cup! I've been on a couple 5-7 mile hikes in rough terrain with this fanny pack. It did not slip up my waist as many past packs have done. When it was full, the water bottle did hang fairly far away from my body and bounce against me as I walked because the bottle holder in the fanny pack isn't that deep and the bottle was fairly tall, but it showed no sign of falling out as I was scrambling over rocks and climbing switchbacks as you are able to tighten multiple straps to keep that from happening. The pack has multiple pockets. I went hiking alone and brought my wallet, phone, keys, two granola bars, water bottle, and a small self-defense pistol and everything fit in it perfectly. I wore a crop top once, and the mesh didn't feel abrasive against my skin.
As for biking, this fanny pack works just fine for that too. I have a water bottle holder on my bike, so I put one water bottle in there and one in the fanny pack holder, and I feel pretty set with hydration. Again, it didn't ride up, and I was easily able to fit some allen keys, personal effects, extra deodorant, a snack, etc. I do have a hybrid bike where I sit fairly upright, so this pack did not dig into my stomach or sides at any point, but I couldn't speak for anyone with a bike where the seat is level with the handlebars.
