Rope lights and the little dice of lights inside are a fickle thing there should be pretty durable and withstand lots of temperatures the big thing to be cautionary about is keeping that in mind and remembering that things have x amount of time of life being illuminated. This doesn't tell us much but in any event this is as good as any other LED with its brightness and color that they promoted and advertised

Nice rope light (it is rectangular, not round) but that will help it lay flat to a surface better.
Dusk to dawn sensor works. The remote needs to be sort of close and with no obstacles to work.
Can change the colors.
HOWEVER, the white color selection is definitely not white; it is a blueish white. In the grand scheme of things it didn't really matter to me. If you are expecting or need it to be white like the photos, may be a little disappointed. See photos.
Other that I am satisfied with it.
