Nice Coat. Runs a little small.

Overall, I like the coat, but made a few changes on mine.
Fur on the hood: The hood is permanent on the coat, but the fur can be removed from the hood. It is held in place by buttons and loops. However, the fur is only fastened at four points, which is not enough. While pulling the hood up over the head, your finger can "go through," and it feels like you're going through a hole. In addition to the original 4 points of attachment, I added 8 more ( two additional points between each original one). That meant adding 16 more buttons (8 points, fastened both front and back of fur) and 16 more loops.
Fur appearance: It looked somewhat mangy when unpacked. I brushed it well and trimmed a few of the longer hairs, and it looked much better afterward.
Size: I ordered a medium. The coat fits and is flattering to my 5'4" & approximately 128# frame. But this medium is more snug than my other winter puffer coat that is a small. I can usually wear either a small or a medium, but I would not be able to wear a small in this coat.
Length: The coat is about an inch shorter than my other puffer coat, but still covers my back end well.
Pockets: It has two outer pockets that are big enough for gloves and tissues. There are no inner pockets and no pockets that snap or zip shut.
Warmth: The coat is cozy warm. I actually got a little too warm with the outside temperature at a mild 35°. It is warm enough for the whole winter in northern Indiana.

Poorly made coat

What a disappointment this coat was!! I bought it as a Christmas gift for my daughter, and, within 30 days of her first wear of it, it ripped at a seam just above her left, front, exterior pocket. I was so disappointed because she Needed a coat and really liked this one. I do not recommend this item.
You might as well go with a BIG backcountry snow coat, right?!! ðŸ’ðŸ¼â€â™€ï¸

THIS IS A VERY HOT COAT 🌡ï¸ðŸ”¥
This is a hot, sweaty, 100% polyester winter coat. Not 'winter' like November. Winter like THE ARCTIC. If you aren't racing in the Iditarod this year or sleeping out on the bare snowy ground for an Idaho/Montana hunting trip with no shelter, then you don't need this coat.
🦌 Don't even think of buying this coat unless you live in:
â„ï¸Michigan
â„ï¸Minnesota
â„ï¸North Dakota
â„ï¸Wisconsin
â„ï¸Illinois
â„ï¸New York
â„ï¸Wyoming
â„ï¸ Iowa
â„ï¸ Indiana
â„ï¸ Alaska
Other than that, you'll never get to wear it without ripping it off within 20 seconds. 🤷ðŸ¼"â'€ï¸ *Caveat: I did the initial try on in October at 79 degrees and sunny, nearly died. My fault.🤦ðŸ¼"â'€ï¸
Looks 👄💅
I bought the 'Coffee'. Very happy with the way it looks. Someone on here said it wasn't cute and I agree it creases a bit in transit, but it has that backcountry/rustic look I love. â'¥ï¸
It is a much lighter golden brown than the website photos suggest, and less shiny which I appreciate: shiny coats look cheap, IMHO. 🤷ðŸ¼"â'€ï¸ This has a slight sheen. The hood and fur are massive and arrived all caught up in the zippers of their travel bags but I was able to brush them out after and they look fantastic!
I agree with other reviewers that the hood slips over your eyes, falls off backwards and can't be adjusted - but if you want that oversized fluffy look that covers your whole shoulders, you've got to expect that. Wear a fleecy hat under it to give it something to grip. 🤷ðŸ¼"â'€ï¸
The fur is removable but don't remove it! Total nightmare to get the fur back on and I also had to resew the fur buttons on mine since trying to remove the fur just one time made them come loose. 🤦ðŸ¼"â'€ï¸
Sizing
I am 5'4, 135lb, 34D-29-40, usually a size 6-8, size M in tops and M or L in coats depending on how much room I want for layering. I am petite across the shoulders and mostly carry my weight in the lower body (pear shaped ðŸ, I guess). I tried the S, M and L in this coat and they ALL fit.
The S was a little tight on the hips when I zipped it, but once zipped, I could actually move freely. It was the most tailored and I think the most flattering fit. The main difference between the S and the M was the S was tighter over the shoulders, less puffy on the upper arms and ever so slightly restrictive across the chest and upper arms (not a problem with the M). Despite this, I seriously considered keeping the S as it did fit. I guess I just like my clothes a bit on the looser side.
The M was significantly looser across the upper body, but still tailored(ish). No problems doing it up and getting all wrapped up inside it. It was still so close and heavy that it felt a bit oppressive on the day I tried it on â›…. M was not as flattering as the S on my body size, it was closer to the L than the S in how it fit me (more like a big snow coat than a tailored coat). I could layer under the M if I wanted.
The L was a sloppier fit that I could easily wear several layers underneath if required. The sleeves bunch up because it's a puffer coat, but they still looked a bit too long with the L. Though the L was probably the least flattering (making me look like huge roly poly cloud wrapped Michelin man), the extra space between me and the polyester made me feel like I could breathe so I gravitated towards that one at first, until I looked at the photos and realized it puts about three dress sizes on me. 😂.
Ultimately, I went with the M, just in case I decide to put on weight for the winter ☃ï¸, but they all would have worked fine. Though the S was most flattering, I figure I have plenty of other tailored coats that make me look thin. If you're going to buy a big snow coat, you might as well go with a BIG snow coat, right? 🤷ðŸ¼"â'€ï¸
The M leaves a little space to trap a layer of warm air.
A WORD ABOUT SLEEVE CUFFS
The sleeve cuffs felt too tight and restrictive in both the S and M. I have tiny little wrists so I have never experienced this before. The L coat wrists were by far the most preferable. This issue did get better with wear and I don't notice it now.
A WORD ABOUT ZIPPER
Yes, I agree with other reviewer that the zipper is temperamental. 😬 If I keep this gigantic coat, I want it to last years but the zipper does not inspire confidence out of the box. I'm going to be super gentle with it.
PRICE POINT
Good at $69 with a little coupon discount of a few extra $. But then it is a totally synthetic sweaty coat. I'd love to know if it's still sweaty in freezing temperatures (*Update: wore it over a thick cotton sweater during a power outage with gale force winds - toasty but not sweaty at low temperatures, haven't tried snow). Your choice if you want to pay over $100 (-$1,000) for something lighter and more breathable like Kavik, Raab or Canada Goose. 🤷ðŸ¼"â'€ï¸ I think if I lived full time in one of the aforementioned states, I probably would invest with the named brands just for reliability and durability.
Hope this helps you decide what size to buy!

Can’t decide if I’m going to keep it

Well this just arrived and its 19 degrees F outside. I decided to take a walk and test it out.
Straight off I noticed the first set of buttons that keeps the "removable fur" on is missing. I wasn't planning on using the "fur" but it doesn't speak well to the quality. I zip it up and pit on what's left of the hood and head out. I think the hood was counting on the fur to keep it on in a gentle breeze. Without it blows off my head and doesn't have a way to cinch or secure it.
Moving on, it is actually pretty warm. It does indeed keep the wind out! I was wearing a light cotton long sleeve shirt underneath and I felt comfortable out in the Wisconsin winter. I liked the size of the pockets, but they didnt reach inside the lining, so your hands and belongings wouldn't stay warm without gloves.
The sillouette wasnt a true hour glass shape. There was no way to cinch it at the waist. It did leave room for extra layers worn underneath though.
The zipper was a medium quality but only worked one way. The jacket was loose enough to allow for sitting and had snap openings on the lower sides to open it up i guess.
Overall, my husband says I should just return it and get something without all the cons.

This jacket, i ordered in size small. when i received it, i noticed that it fit quite a bit big. i was considering returning to exchange for an xs. Then, i noticed that the tag said i had received a size medium. This got me to looking at what i had ordered more closely. i had ordered a deep wine color, but what i received was a tomato red color. I don't mind the red color- but, it's not what i ordered.
I like the length of the jacket, it hits mid thigh, closer to knee length. But, it's missing the hourglass shape that is advertised. it is also missing the warmth that is repeatedly mentioned in the reviews. i put the jacket on and stepped outside to see if it could withstand the coolder weather- it was 37 degrees outside and i could feel a chill through the jacket. I was shivering in under 5 minutes in 37 degree weather, with no breeze. this is bad, for a winter jacket. it gets MUCH colder here, in the winter, than 37 degrees. that's practically beach weather here.
i sent the coat back.
