Sonder Los Angeles, Made in USA, Large Thick End Grain Walnut Wood Cutting Board with Non-Slip Feet, Juice Groove, Sorting Compartments for Kitchen 17x13x1.5 in (Gift Box Included)

Key features
- •✔ VERSATILE BUILT-IN COMPARTMENTS - Beautifully carved, we've integrated three built-in compartments made for prepping and chopping to hold your diced onions, chives, garlic, etc. This side can also be used for entertainment as a charcuterie board. Try using the compartments for nuts, fruit, olives, and more! The small rubber feet allows the board to effectively grip a wet countertop while cutting and the inner handles provide grip for easy carrying.
- •✔ DEEP JUICE GROOVES - The built-in juice groove will catch excess liquid during food prep and can hold up to 3.5 ounces of liquid - no need to worry about juices running off the board and onto your countertop when cutting up fruits, vegetables, and meats. Perfect for carving grilled brisket, beef, pork, or ribs at barbecues.
- •✔ PROUDLY MADE IN AMERICA - Crafted right here in the USA with our selection of sustainably sourced black walnut. We hand select only the highest quality hardwoods for our cutting boards so we may present you with a beautiful and highly functional addition to your kitchen. When cared for correctly, with proper cleaning and periodic oiling, this board will outlast most items in your kitchen.
- •✔ ALFRED CUTTING BOARD - Thoughtfully crafted to be the most functional board you will ever own with it's multipurpose design. Alfred is an end grain constructed board. End grain boards are extremely durable and highly desired for their 'self-healing' properties. Each knife cut goes between the wood fibers, rather than cutting through them. These fibers close back up after the knife exits. Your knives are cutting on a naturally forgiving surface, keeping your knives edge sharper for longer.
- •✔ PREMIUM PACKAGING, THE PERFECT GIFT - Our board comes in a beautifully presented box. This board is a delight to open, and is a great present for weddings, housewarmings, birthdays, engagements, anniversaries, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Christmas or other special days! Included with each board is an insert card with instructions on cleaning and care.

STUNNING high-quality cutting board, top-notch customer service from company owners
Viktor✓ Verified Purchase•October 21, 2023
Quality:
The quality of the cutting board is amazing! It looks stunning in my kitchen, cuts down on my needing to sharpen my knives, and is a great quality board that I expect to last many years to come! The grooves on the edges are nice for catching fluids, just be careful and make sure they are dried out after use. It's also got a dual purpose for presenting food when you flip it over, which I love! Another cool feature is you can place it on its side if you need more counter space and it will stay up.
Customer Service:
They are the kindest owners of any business, ever. I had an issue where one of the legs for the cutting board was missing and I went to their website here and emailed them: https://sonderla.com/pages/contactus
I talked to Tarek the co-founder and he was the most friendly person, I never knew someone could be so chipper and kind over an email! He is so proud of his business and you can tell he put his heart and soul into it. I learned that he and his significant other kicked it off together and so it's a small family owned business that cares a lot about quality.
He shipped me an extra leg in the mail for free once I provided my address, but sadly it got lost. I felt terrible asking for another one, and he shipped two to me (one spare!) and I got them successfully!
Care:
Make sure you keep the board as dry as possible once you are done using it. Wipe it dry with a towel. And, if you rinse it in the sink, also make sure you dry it out afterwards.
When I spoke to Tarek, his recommendation for oil was: "Also, as a friendly reminder, please make sure to oil your board every 3 weeks to ensure the wood fibers don't break down. It's kind of like watering a plant. Without regular oiling, the wood board won't give you the years you'd hope. Food grade mineral oil or an oil blend of that with beeswax mixed in should be perfect."
I bought the Boos Block Mystery Oil. I put it on with a paper towel (you can use gloves or your hands if you wash them really well), and then let it soak in overnight every 3 weeks and it works great! Then I just wipe of any excess the following morning. I didn't really know how to use this, so I found a quick 2 min tutorial here: Boos Block Care (Expert Tips)
Final Notes:
I highly, highly recommend you try out this board because of the superb quality, it's a beautiful part of any kitchen, and lastly the people who make it really care about customer service and put their heart into this business. You will be buying from really good people who want to make a good product!, and will do anything to right a mistake because they want you to be happy with the item

Received my exquisite cutting board very quickly. Packaging was superb. In fact I am going to keep the box and use it store delicate pictures. Box has to be substantial because the cutting board is thick, dense and has some weight to it. Craftsmanship is outstanding. The end grain walnut is a little pricer that regular cuts but well worth it. You walk into the kitchen and your eyes are drawn to it immediately. It is a conversational piece. :)The small delicate feet are on both sides of board and do not get in the way of working. Well designed in that each side has a specific purpose and makes it totally functional any job you tackle. The company has reminders on the box and flyer in regard to oiling the board every three weeks--oh you will want to oil it because it makes it pop even more but protects the wood so you can get decades of use from this board. Definitely would have ordered this cutting board sooner if I had known about the company and their craftsmanship and product. Well done Sonder LA!!!
Beautiful AND Sturdy!

Well crafted and looks stunning on my countertop! The removable rubber feet are such a thoughtful addition and the reversible option with a flat surface on one side and a juice groove on the other make this an efficient all around cutting board. With the proper care and maintenance this beautifully constructed item should last quite a while!
Customer service is UP THERE.

This cutting board is beautiful out of the box. While I am just a regular dude(not a chef for decades), I can appreciate some exceptionally crafted knives and kitchen tools. This board is an equal partner in crime for your favorite high end chef blade.
The board itself is beautifully crafted in appearance and function which makes it an enjoyable experience to give it the appropriate care: oil/wax/hand-wash/dry during its life and work cycle. The wood holds up to repetitions of even my sharpest knives holding its beauty over the months of use.
The non-slip feet of the board are well designed in form and function. The wood is strong and holds its beauty so far under heavy volume of use. Its appearance enhances photographing food if you are into that kind of thing.
The aspect that stands out most regarding this board is the customer service at Sonders. At some point while not in use, the board developed a split on the short side about quarter length down the middle of the board. After reading through some reviews, I found the Sonders email and shot them over some photos and a short narrative of the issue.
The folks at Sonders consideration and engagement with me through this conversation stands out as a top end model that companies would be wise to strive for. Not only was the representative curious, considerate, knowledgeable and kind, they agreed to replace the board and got it to my residence in 2 days. It felt refreshing and a rare experience to feel a company backing their product to this level.
I would highly recommend this product based solely on the customer service interaction if you are in the market for this class and style of cutting board. Not only will be in good hands throughout the life of the board, you will be casting a vote for small business's that are truly putting out a quality product and standing behind it even if its at times at their own expense which is getting to me more rare these days. Well done Sonders, glad there are some folks still out there standing behind their products.
