Soak before you use. Worked best to apply mud thincoat to ceiling and then texture roll. (Oh yeah, this is for texture drywall NOT FOR PAINT like some reviewers really want it to be"¦I'm sure one could but won't have that texture at all) Outcome was very different and not like pictured if just rolling on from a roller tray. Some reviews said product fell apart- after 5 gallons of mud, mine is fine. Stored in water between applications and fully rinsed clean like new with dish soap and warm water. I'd highly recommend trying these fun new textures. Outcome will be variable and unique and not uniform and repetitive. Have to go in straight lines and long runs are the most difficult.

I just got done finishing my basement. Drywalling SUCKS. I didn't want to mess with making my ceiling smooth and even. This made my life so much easier! I had my son apply the base spackle with a very thick nap roller and i followed behind him, and BOOM! my ceiling has a great texture and I didn't have to do multiple seams and sanding to make it look great! I would use this again and again!

I have never even used a paint brush or roller or do anything like this, but oh my gosh, this was so easy!! It looks like a professional did it. Lol. It doesn't take long to do either. Just make sure wall doesn't have a lot of bumps and holes or any imperfections and it turns out awesome. I would say if you want less mess and to pay way less money get one of these. Pick the pattern you like and it looks just like it!!

The media could not be loaded. It took me about 1/4 of the ceiling to get the hang of how much texture to roll on for the best effect. This is the final effect, then I went back and redid the first quarter. Keep a bucket of water nearby. I needed to rinse the grooves of the roller after four 2x4 passes. The roller is durable and is ready to be used again when I remove the popcorn ceiling from the rest of the house. The texture and this pattern hides the many imperfections in my ceiling well. Definitely worth it!

We had a door framed in and needed to get the wall texture to match the current texture. This was going to cost me extra so I decided to do something different. Got this roller and some other supplies and granted the texture is not like the knockdown I have I'm not dissatisfied at all. I have no experience in this but I think it turned out well. You can't see then pattern that but thats user error.
