If you buy this light and I think if it is hot and you turn it off to move and try to turn back on it may not work. I thought mine was burnt out after two weeks. Well I think if hot it needs to cool before turning back on. Just want to save others from thinking it is burnt out and waste 26 bucks for one ya might not need yet.

I have an elderly indoor cat who enjoys basking in the sun. During Minnesota winters, we get very little sun. I got this for her to provide warmth and uv. I mounted it on a floor lamp next to our couch and she loves lying under it. The color of the light is rather unappealing so I turn on the floor lamp at the same time to drown it out and it works perfectly. Will update if any issues arise.

I got the 80 watt bulb and it doesn't put out as much heat as I was expecting .. even holding my hand directly (within a couple inches) under the bulb.. but it does a nice job warming the rock so it's probably perfect for the 10" distance from the light to the rock.
