I have only used these mittens once since they arrived, but they handled the first test. They seemed to have a good grip while I was using my ice chipper and they came off easily when I needed to take the fish off the hook. I had issues when trying to pick up smaller items, but I suppose I won't be performing surgery with them on. My hands were warm enough with or without the gloves. The temps were in the mid 20's. The sizes do run large, so don't go up one size like I did.

Okay. My fingertips are crazy sensitive to cold. I tried these with the included liner. Better but not perfect. I tried silk gloves underneath the liner--better--still non warm enough for me. I'm going to keep using these but with one of those heater packs.

Well designed product. Pros: fleece lined, long cuff that can be snugged tight, durable leather palm & thumb. I like how they can accommodate several different inserts. The ones they came with are similar to the thin 5 fingered military glove liners for sale @ my local Army Navy store. Those were sufficient for me down to 7 degrees F. I ordered the large size and definitely have room for thicker wool gloves underneath these. Plenty of room for a handwarmer packet in each glove as well.
