It's cute and soft. Fits newborn clothes, which is great. However it is larger than most dolls which makes buying accessories for it a little hard. Good price though, my daughter likes it. It can squeeze into doll beds (see pic). Also will go into a doll stroller but looks huge in a doll stroller lol. The pacifier it comes with stays in its mouth which is nice. Overall happy with purchase

First of all, you really can dress this baby in newborn clothes. Right now it's dressed in one of my favorite outfits my daughter used to wear when she was brand new... she was 8 pounds 2 ounces at birth. This was important to me, because I really wanted to encourage my (now 2 year old) daughter to learn how to use snaps and buttons and things while getting dressed. That, and I have a ton of newborn clothes still in storage, so why not use them? I have to mention that onesies or sleeveless outfits will not look good though, seeing as the "skin" of the baby doll only reaches about two inches from the end of each extremity. The rest of the body, underneath the clothes, is a white cotton material. This is great for cuddling, and for realistic playtime movements, but not so great for summer clothes.

As for what my daughter thinks of her new baby... suffice to say she's obsessed with it. We've only had it for about a day, so of course she's fascinated by her new toy, but I can definitely see this as being a lasting favorite. She loves putting baby socks on it, singing to it, feeding it, and giving it kisses. We purchased another baby doll at the same time - the African American 11" doll by the same brand - and she DEFINITELY prefers the 20" one. It is not very heavy, so she has no trouble toting it around, but it is still VERY large! It's hilarious to watch, because she actually looks like she's carrying a real newborn.

One reviewer mentioned the doll didn't look anything like the picture... this is not the case for us. Our doll is completely identical to the one pictured, as far as I can tell. The quality of its features are VERY realistic, though something about the expression struck me as a little off at first. I chalk this up to not actually owning such a realistic looking doll previously. In the picture you can't see what's under the hat... the baby is not bald, it has light brown hair that is of the same material as its "skin". It does not have eyebrows, just little ridges, but this is common in baby dolls and not surprising. I also really like the material used for its skin... I can not STAND cheap, hard plastic dolls! While the vinyl (?) is not particularly soft, it does give some when you squeeze on it. Not cheap feeling at all! As for odors... it doesn't have one. If you sniff up close, you can smell the vinyl, but there is nothing obvious or chemically about it at all. Yay!
The clothing it came with is fair, but not really my style. I'd much rather dress it in our old newborn clothes. My daughter hates the hat, and prefers her baby without it.
When all is said and done... we love this baby, and I think it is a VERY good value. I am seriously considering buying one or two more, though at thirty bucks a pop that adds up fast. But honestly, I think it is a very good price for a realistic looking baby doll of this size, and I will definitely be recommending it to fellow moms.

Gifted this doll yesterday to a 76 year-old with dementia. She absolutely adored the doll and spent the rest of the day doting over it. Unfortunately, later in the evening while in her room, Grandma tore it to shreds.

We are not sure whether she mistook the cloth body for a layer of clothing that needed to be changed, or whether she was in a sundowning mood, or both, but the Cuddle Baby never stood a chance.

If you care for a dementia sufferer who is not frail and prone to aggressive mood swings, you might want to consider a solid body doll instead.

This is not a criticism oof the doll itself, which is very cute and otherwise well-made. The only comment I would offer is that the baby bottle doesn't seem to be designed for this particular doll. It would have been nice if the bottle had a nipple that fit the doll's mouth just like the pacifier does.

We're going to try a vinyl body next, because the doll therapy definitely has a net positive effect on our PWD.

I bought it for my mom who has Dementia. Keeps her company sometimes when she excepts it. I think it is ok, family said they do not like the eyes. I just laugh. Grandchild plays with it.

I've just received this doll yesterday. As an adult, I never really bought any toys for myself since few weeks ago. But I did like dolls a lot when I was a kid. But then I accidentally came across these cute dolls I also bought another 18 inch fashion doll) online and I thought it'd be great to have some fun for myself since they're not that expensive. :)

This doll came after a week, which was yesterday. I was really excited when I opened the box, just like I'm a kid opening a present :D

Upon opening the box, I could smell lavender... it's great!

Then after taking the doll out, the doll actually has some weight... not as light as the toys I used to play (I used to have a baby doll when I was a kid). So I weighed this baby, and she's exactly 2 lbs :)

I looked at the details of this baby. she has some realistic baby features-- eyes that look real, an opening mouth with 2 bottom teeth, all that baby "wrinkles" too. Then you can also put 1 of her thumbs into her mouth. That is really cute! And you would really feel that you're holding a baby when you hold her.

However, she doesn't look exactly the same as the picture. But in my personal opinion... she actually looks better.

Ok... if you look at the pictures, there are 2 facial expression, one is smiley face and the other is the one that opens the mouth. And Amazon didn't really tell you which one you're getting. This works fine for me, I think they're both cute and I got the one with the opening mouth :) Also I think my baby doll doesn't look as "round" and chubby as the one in the picture. But I think this makes her look even more realistic.

Also the outfit is a little different than the picture. My baby's outfit is all pink with a beetle in the middle. I'd like the say that even the outfit is somewhat cute, the fabric is not a good quality. You may probably want to give her another outfit. And I also think that the body's cloth can be thicker. I don't know if it can hold up well for a kid playing with it.

So this is my review of this cute baby doll. For $30 with free shipping, I think this is a good deal for such a cute baby doll. If you're looking for x'mas gifts for your girls, I think this would be a good choice! :)

*** UPDATE OCT 2011:

OK I just want to give you an update for this baby doll and the changes JC toys made on the news ones! (You can probably find this in my other review)

1. The lavender smell is pretty much gone after almost a year. It becomes a very subtle smell.

2. I just bought the Asian Version of this exact same doll from the JC toys website and can see they made some changes to it. First of all, the new doll no longer has the lavender smell. Then the new doll does NOT have a weighed bottom... It is actually about 1 lb lighter than the old one I got a year ago! I guess they made these changes for the kids. While I don't care much about the smell since it'll go away eventually, I do prefer a doll to have a weighed bottom so it can sit better :( . Too bad I am not that crafty, otherwise I would have added some weight to the bottom!

Other than the smell & the body weight, these two dolls are exactly the same in terms of their vinyl, size and outfit.
