Works well, but it has drawbacks.

The brush does exactly what it's meant to do, and does it well. I didn't know the drain stopper was part of the package. I liked the concept, and I immediately used it. It does have its downsides. In my drain (and there's nothing unusual about it) it proved very hard to force it into the drain. Once there, it proved impossible to close the vents, and taking it back out was a hard job. If lightly pressed into the drain everything works and it can be easily removed, but a part of it remains above the lip of the drain, and therefore a small pool of water will remain trapped in your sink. Refusing to give up on it, I hit upon forcing the front of the stopper into the drain, level with the lip. Voila! Everything works, it's easy to install, easy to remove and the water drains like it's supposed to.

Simple to use - turn off the breaker to your disposal, just in case, and then get a bit of soap and elbow grease in there to get your disposal extra clean (just turn that breaker back on when you're done). I suppose a regular brush could work the same, but for the price it is good to have something that extends and has a splash guard, as well as comes with a drain blocker that serves as a food scraper. I would recommend this!
