Great amp for a medium power application.

Overall a good amp. Kicker quality I've known and loved over the years. Solid amp for those are just want to power a subwoofer and don't care to let everyone on the block know.
2 personal gripes I have with this amp that lead me to knock off a star.
1. 1/8 aux cable style remote knob. They are known to pull out if pulled. Also keep in mind that the knob is not included.
2. Power and ground use fork terminals. This is more preference. While fine on smaller wire, im just not a fan for the 8awg power and ground terminals. That's just me though.

Very powerful amplifier for the money, and a solid brand to purchase. This amp is mono so it combines left and right signals passed into it; the subwoofer low-pass filter that's built-in works well; the bass boost control is a nice feature; and there's plenty of gain to match your installation requirements. The amplifier effortlessly pushes a 2-ohm load to its 400W RMS rating and a bit more while getting only slightly warm to the touch.

Replaced a Rockford Fosgate 750D with this amplifier. I am powering a Kicker CompRT 10" shallow mount sub at 1 ohm. The CX400.1 is as good if not better than the Fosgate amp. And being it is about half the price, this is a solid investment.
