The auger arrived ahead of time (they had said to allow 10 days but I got it in 7, the company was communicative and kept my updated on shipping particulars, and they seem friendly and responsive. The teo boxes were reasonable well packed and arrived in good condition. While some have complained about the instructions mine came together pretty much assembled and all I really had to do was gas her up and go. After the initial few tries it started right up initially, and has started right away ever since.
I got this auger in order to extend a new line of fencing to a corral, and put in a dry lot around a run-in. I figure if it can get through that then it will have paid for itself, and so far it's done just that. It goes down through my topsoil layer (hill wash with some roots and rocks up to grapefruit size) and down into the red Virginia clay underneath fairly easily, with only a few stops to break up get out a larger rock. I would note that I was in a valley on my property where the soil layer is thicker and deeper, I would imagine that up on the higher spots the rock to soil ratio goes way up, but that review is for another day.
As others have noted, going slow, extracting the bit frequently to clean it off and prevent bogging down, and bracing the unit against your body rather than just relying on your arms is key. But it saved me a ton of manual work and I'm looking forward to getting a lot of use out of it int the future.
I gave it 5 stars on value, based on the ccs, attachments, and comparisons to other units.
I gave it 4 stars for ease of use because it can be a beast, and I can see where it could cause problems for some people or in some circumstances. Going slow and steady resolves a lot of that though.
I give it 5 stars on durability because while that's impossible for me to know at this point, it's already has overcome every obstacle it's faced on my property to this point and held up to the demands I've made of it.
I give mine a strong recommendation.

Does the job in all sizes. Cut my time using a post hole digger for sure. Big yard, big fence and I was done in no time.
Better than expected!

This auger is great. Worked better than some of the rental units I've used. Started right up. Easy to use.
