Works great on side of tank for snakes
GREAT MATS SO FAR!

I really like these new technology mats. My only concern is how long they will last. I had two zoomed mats for my leopard geckos' tanks, adhered to the outside bottom. Over the years one got really weak and completed cracked and broke into flakey pieces when I tried to take it off. The other mat, the same model, is holing up but emits the same constant heat. Over the years I have had to make adjustments to the interior of the tank in order to maintain a balanced temperature for my reptiles. This amazing mat solved all the problems.
Here are my pros and cons:
Pros:
Lightweight and thin with space age technology
No adhesive to worry about. Just use a strip of shipping tape across it on it to hold it to your tank.
Works on the side or the bottom of the tank
Has a cord with a temperature adjuster with an excellent range
Heats up a 20-40 gal tank easily
Cons:
The adjuster knob is very slick and cone-shaped and it would have been better to have some sort of ridges on it to make it easier to adjust.
The indicator is hard to see around the dial and only shows a thick or thin airline. It would be nice for it to have numbers like 1 thru 5 to read.
Haven't had it long enough to determine any negative factors on its longevity.
Since the mats are covered with substrate, there is no use posting photos.
Another thing I found very useful is I bought one for my pet rat tank. I have a very large playpen penthouse tank for my rat. I use a large screen for the top but he has free access to come in and out as he pleases and oftentimes sleeps throughout the day on top of his tank. When he was young, I used a heating pad to help him stay warm. Now I just simply attached one of these heat mats to the outside of the tank and can adjust the temperature. I Keep my rat tank between 68 and 72° which is perfect for rats. I adjust the heat in cold weather. The rat mat is mounted on one side of the outside of the tank and the rat has three different sleep quarters in his multi-level penthouse. He can sleep on the cooler side or the warmer side with his blanket as he desires.
Before I get any flack from readers, please know that there is adequate ventilation for my rat and because my house is often cold and drafty, I got him a tank so he would not be exposed to the dust and the drafty house because it is an older house. He's perfectly content and happy and living a very long time! The top of the tank has a screen and he has free inside and outside access at all times.
My leopard geckos like the new heat pads. I can easily adjust for daytime and night time temperatures adjustments if I need to.
These are a great value for the cost and I certainly would invest in more if I needed to. Bought three already!

Fantastic heat matt with built in rheostat that generates gentle heat
Robneck✓ Verified Purchase•December 26, 2023
I am truly amazed how well this heat mat performs for the money. I set the temp and monitored in constantly for about 3 days. As the temps in my house change, so do the temps in the grow tub. But just as my house only changes a few degrees, so does the tub. So it's just like nature getting down to as low as 75° and as high as 78°. Room temps stay between 69° and 72°.
I have a silicone matt that this heater is sitting on, with the grow tub above it. I put little spacer feet on the grow tub so air can move. I put my hand on the heater when it was at temp....didn't feel hot to me. So this heat is a very gentle heat. I like it alot.
This would be great if used in a multiple matt setup to create a heat gradient for reptiles in cooler rooms. You would only need one thermostat probe (on the hottest matt), then set each of the others to the desired temp across the bottom or back of your enclosure. It's pretty much Identical to the Flukers, but with a built in rheostat.

Works well but is annoying to gage temperature

It works well but I wish I knew it fluctuates to maintain a temp because I thought it was turning off and I was scared my tarantula was cold. It was a bit hard to gage the temp with the fluctuations for temp maintenance but now i found the sweet spot and it works well. I wish it maybe had a small screen on it but for what it is I'd buy it again
Keeps my buddy warm

The media could not be loaded. Practically invisible, does a great job regulating temperatures. Very happy
