Tipping is typical with most (if not all) pool cover pumps of this genre. This one needs some type of counter weight to keep it upright. I use an extended pole with a pool brush attached. It does the trick.

So far so good. No winter weather here yet but lots of rain. The cover fills up quickly and this little pump empties it just as quickly. All the connectors are included. Perfect little pump for your cover.

Price is excellent, works very well but:
For a pool cover use the hose it came with works well but not fast who cares it will keep up at a decent rate however the plastic hose it comes with is long so there is a lot of friction holding water flow back also best to screw in the garden hose metal fitting first as the plastic fitting for the hose it comes with in my experience cross threads so it goes in an angle creating small leakage at the connection. I have a fountain and wanted to drain quicker so I connected a small length garden hose to the metal adapter that comes with it, it seats properly into the base and delivers 3 times the water flow very happy with that and therefore bumped the rating up to five stars. Yes, it is prone to tipping over but they all are so just carefully route the garden hose to prop it up no problem. Also it does suck water up all the way from a 1/4 inch depth. When I was using the smaller plastic hose if I moved the unit it would stop so unplug and re-plug into power and it works fine. For the price its very effective and has good fit and function.

Excellent pump that really drains my pool cover fast! Compared to the old siphoning method I've used for years it is blazing fast! The pump is a very good product but one piece of hardware that is included is sub-par in my eyes. The adapter nipple that is used to connect my garden hose has rust starting on it. It looks to be a quality brass fitting but it's not. Keep it dry when not in use or else it will start to rust and fast!
I'll still give it 5 stars because it does perform so well. Good value, decent attachments and of course super fast delivery! Thanks.
