This is a sturdy machine with good safety features. As noted by other reviews the assembly instructions are not complete thus you have to use your skills and imagination to assemble this machine. I suggest that if you have weight plates smaller in circumference that you use them on the bottom rack or you can load plates on the bottom weight rack in a lower position if you're strong enough to push the plate up in a low position. But overall it's worth it.

Pros: footplate is wide enough and high enough to do wide presses (I'm 5' 9": this was actually the most important thing for me), the unit is pretty solid, smooth, the seat angle options are decent, the plate is low enough for calf work. Compact footprint.

Cons: assembly is tough, have to load the lower weight horns in the middle position, there are no full welds, weld beads could be better, the weld on the chrome guide rods mounts are spot welds pretty thin so don't over tighten the Allen bolts, the seat could be wider/thicker, making the footplate a touch wider and flaring the edge angles in would put this this over the top in this price category.

Summary: it's at about 90% of what you get from far more expensive machines. With a few design tweaks it'd be 99%. Pretty happy, can't speak to durability yet. Recommended.

For the price, I can't imagine a better leg press. My son and I use this several times per week, and while we haven't stacked more than 300 lbs on it, it is really smooth and can tell it will easily accept almost double the weight we've already used. It is really smooth too. There are several reviews that complain about the assembly, and these people have a point for sure. It is only a challenge to assemble because the written instructions are not detailed. The instruction are really bad actually. It's like the manufacturer was trying to save money on a few extra pieces of paper and ink. There is a YouTube video that helps a little with assembly, but they could have done a much better job on this too. By using the written instructions and YouTube video, I was able to piece it together without too much frustration. It would be so easy for this company to do this better. The manufacturer should include more detailed written instructions and larger illustrations. If they just added a few additional pages and larger illustrations for assembly, it would be a snap to follow the instructions. I'd estimate that it took about 2 1/2 hours to assemble this alone. With some help, I could have done it faster, likely under 2 hours. Anyway, this is a solid product, and I've been using it for about a month.

I would say this is probably the best home gym leg press you can buy for the money. It is compact enough to fit into a relatively small space the the dimensions are accurate it is very smooth and sturdy.. Only downside was having to refer to the video for assembly the booklet instructions were not correct after step one. Took about 2 hours unbox to finish by myself. 5 stars based on just the machine.

Leg press 810 on it so far. At that weight it's sturdiness does come into question especially trying to do 1,000 lbs not sure I'd trust it to be honest. but I rarely overload that much and keep it between 300-500 lbs and so far it's great.
Also huge footplate instead of tiny ones on all the other "home gym" quality leg press I have found. So instead of spending 4-5k on a commercial one this is fantastic home gym leg press.

Only few complaints are"¦

Not a major fan of the handles to engage the sled or lock it. The 4 weight horns are held on seperstely by 3 bolts instead of being a solid weight horn you slide Through ike most of my equipment. And my seat is crooked when mounted.

But for the price point and weight capacity along with its tiny footprint, it's hard to find a better leg press.
