After dealing with satellite companies that are in constant conflict with our local stations, I reluctantly decided to go back to an aerial antenna. I was willing to buy an expensive antenna as we live 92 miles from the local stations. After researching quite a bit, I went with a standard, no frills antenna. We're amazed at the 76 channels available for free and the clarity over our Samsung HD TV. The setup was easy and I installed on an old antenna pole inserted into an old DTV mount on my roof. For now, we only have one TV attached, but plan on using a splitter to add another TV. Overall, works well and very affordable. Final note, when expanding the aluminum wings, I used Vaseline to help snap them into place. I was worried I would snap the aluminum arms. This antenna is not fancy (electric motors or foil wings), but it works! Five star buy so far.

Antenna is excellent. Easy to assemble and operate.
Reception is great and picture quality is very good. We're far away from any TV tower and this is perfect for us. This is the 2nd antenna we have purchased. Out other one is too far from the TV set so I ordered this one to get reception.

First of all, this is a good yagi TV antenna "“ and especially good for the price. Design and engineering of a yagi-style TV antenna is well understood. This antenna is manufactured in China and maybe engineered there also. The tech specifications are very good (8db gain for VHF; 12db gain for UHF) and reasonable for this size yagi with this number of elements.

Note that this is a high VHF and UHF antenna "“ it will not work well on transmission channels 2-6 (low VHF) even though the tech specs seem to indicate that it will. Low VHF antennas usually have an easily noted 3+ft long element on the back and today are not common because very few stations transmit on low VHF. If you need a low VHF antenna, look for the long element and a specific mention of low and high VHF in the description. Note that if your TV station says Channel 2 this usually does NOT correspond to transmission channel 2. Check your location's broadcast-transmission frequencies to determine if you need a low VHF antenna.

Assembly instructions are nearly adequate. But assembly is pretty easy to figure out just from the photos. Amazon's on-line photos are better than those in the assembly papers.

Antenna wire simply comes off the bottom of the antenna. Nice watertight shield here with a (you might miss it) metal ring on the cable to clamp the boot to the cable so that it does not drop down. Be sure to let the cable droop away from the antenna and anchor to the pole. I did not see a good way to attach the cable to the antenna boom without causing some signal interference. Amazon has a splitter and some clips for a bundle for about $10 more. But the base unbundled antenna does include 50ft of RG6 cable. Nice.

Although this is a good antenna, the advertising specs are absurd.
*200+ miles: maybe for 1 out of 1000 users.
*The box and Amazon advert includes a 4G-LTE logo: really, can it be used for a cell phone?

No power for a microchip. It may have some diodes, caps, and resistors somewhere (doubtful) but microchip "“ probably not. There is a balun to convert to 75ohm coax. This is a passive system. Classic yagi.

Good TV antenna in spite of the advert silliness.

My husband and I live in an area where reception for local channels isn't good, we purchased this antenna as we got tired of paying for local channels and only watching one. It arrived on time, it was an easy install, and it worked right away. With many local channels and a beautiful clear picture, I highly recommend purchasing this antenna.

I've tried other smaller and more convenient antennas with miserable results. I assembled this antenna and temporarily sat it in place fully expecting to be disappointed and to return it to Amazon. I connected it to my TiVo and ran the channel scan and was shocked at how many channels I was able to receive and how perfectly they came in.

IMPORTANT: This antenna is directional. It's critical you aim it in the general direction of your local broadcast towers. A few degrees of rotation made the difference between not receiving a channel at all and receiving it perfectly. I loaded a compass app for my phone and that combined with a few minutes of tweaking allowed for great reliable reception. I'm going to be saving over $150 a month and still be able to DVR my beloved football games.
