Fantastically portable, but only a so-so rude

Don't get me wrong, this item perfectly fits my need for a scooter I can take when I travel, even on an airplane. It folds up very easily and. In that position, it even has a rolling-kuggage-like handle to pull the thing along behind you . It is also very compact in this position, and is easy to store in a closet as, say, a smallish upright vacuum.

Where it loses points is in the actual riding department. It is pretty slow, maxes out at about 5 mph, and yet it is always applying the automatic brakes (going downhill, when turning, etc). You'd think with all this care taken to maintain a slow pace, it would at least feel safe to eideo. And yet, I frequently feel like it's going to tip over it the ground is at all tilting to one side - and it has dumped me out several times already.
Its hard l(non-inflatable) tires and lack of shocks ensures that you feel every crack in the sidewalk as if you'd hit the world's biggest pothole. Plus, there is no way to carry anything with you, unless you use a backpack or balance cargo in your head. The underpowered motor doesn't feel like it could handle a few more pounds anyway (of course, I'm a big guy, pushing it's 275 lb weight limit even without cargo)

So there's good and bad here, but it's a useful second scooter if you require one you can pack in a trunk or a plane.
Lightweight easily transported

I bought this a couple years ago, because it was lightweight and easy to fold and put in my car. I have limited mobility and this is very convenient to take along. I had the same problem with the plastic piece in the steering column. I replaced the part with a hard rubber faucet washer. That seems to work pretty good, when the washer gets old east to replace. I think The bearing is now bad in the front steering column , so I'm trying to figure out how to replace that. Other than those issues I'm happy with the scooter and would purchase again.
Lightweight and Foldable

The media could not be loaded. The iLiving USA - V8 Foldable Mobility Electric Scooter is a great little scooter for the price. I have researched many scooters and my requirements were that it was lightweight, foldable, easy to maneuver and that the batteries had a decent range.
I have only used it once so far. But here are the things I considered Pros with this scooter:
I didn't have to buy another expensive battery.
It is truly easily foldable, and fits in the back of my SUV or even in the backseat.
I'm glad it isn't any heavier - my husband can get it loaded in the car but not yet sure I can do.
It will work for travel - including airlines and cruise ships.
It is comfortable and easy to drive - it is 3 wheel, but it feels like I'm well-balanced. I've driven on sidewalks, streets and in dirt/gravel parking lots so far.
I like that all the tires are solid - I don't want to worry about a flat.
It's very easy to charge.
Things I still need to do or check out:
I want to get a basket for the back. There's not anywhere to put things.
I want to drive it for a longer time and make sure it stays charged for as long as it is supposed to.
Note: As you may have read on other reviews the steering post/tiller can be raised and lowered according to your needs. When we raised the steering tiller and tried to lock it in place the plastic spacer in the latch snapped. Customer service (Mariana) responded to us right away and a replacement piece is being shipped to us. (She's great!) She sent a video too that explains how to fix it. The video refers to the replacement piece as "rubber" - it would be great if it is rubber and isn't brittle. Having said that, too bad the scooter didn't come with a rubber spacer instead of plastic that would snap.
In spite of this I have to give this scooter 5 stars. The freedom of being able to go out with my family again is so wonderful. I need to practice with it a bit more but it appears that this scooter is just the right size with just the right amenities for me. I will update my review as I use it more.
Great Scooter

I did a lot of research before buying this iLiving scooter. I was specifically looking for a light-weight device, easy folding, with a battery well above ground level so I can cover it with a poncho in the rain. This scooter meets all of those specifications. Note: the manufacturer does NOT recommend using it in the rain, but I live in a rainy climate, so buying the added scooter poncho was my solution. I even use the scooter in the house to help me get over a leg injury. My only disappointment is that the horn does not work, which is the reason I give it four stars. In general, I'm happy with its performance.
Great little scooter!

Having owned this scooter for over a year now, we have used it for numerous trips including cruises and flights. The V8 is a well made, portable, and affordable scooter. Long lasting battery, good speed range. Folds quickly and easily to the size of a suitcase. It gets many positive comments about it's size and portability. Light enough for one person to load in the trunk, and yes, it only weighs 40 pounds (I actually weighed it). Easy to gate check when flying, and narrow enough to navigate cruise ships with ease. Negatives: speed control and abrupt braking take some getting used to, no basket or means to carry anything unless purchased separately, can be tipsy if turned quickly or surface is not level, and solid wheels tend to amplify bumps. Overall, the V8 has been a great purchase, and I would buy it again! However, the travel cover that is sold separately does not fit the V8 well and I do not recommend it.
