I bought this tool to crimp a cat6 cable that I am using for an EAP 613 hanged on the ceiling. The crimping process is pretty straightforward with the exception of one little thing.
The Rj45 connecter when pushed into the crimping tool it protrudes just a hair which makes the blade shave it off a little bit.
This can be mitigated but just not pushing the connector all the way till it stops but rather leaving it off by like 1/8 of an inch and that should crimp it cleanly.

Works great but loses a star because it doesn't commit instructions for the crimper or tester. Had to go to YouTube to figure it out.

Let's be honest, you're buying this to complete a one time job in your home. In my case it was to install a few PoE cameras that a contractor left dangling without attaching connectors to one end of the cables.

You get a cutting tool, which for the most part is OK. I would have liked something a little sturdier, just don't press too hard, or you'll cut into the smaller inner wires.

The crimper itself is built well and does a good job. The thing to note here is the wire ordering and finding the optimal length of cable to leave so that the outter sleep is gripped by the connector and the wires all sit very tightly flush with the front of the connector.

The connectors themselves are decent and I hope they don't corrode over time.

The tester is extremely helpful, put a 9V battery in and plug both ends of the wire into each of the two parts and watch the lights flash to let you know if your wiring is correct.

never Crimped a cable before but studied it in my field. was afraid this is some cheap crap with fake 5 star reviews. not true at all. checked Reviewmeta and results came back with 95% real reviews. very sturdy crimper. worked the very first time when I crimped a UTP Cat5e 568b cable. the best part is that you get cable tester and 50 heads and protectors, AND a special cable cutter.

I almost bought the most expensive $50 Klein Tools crimper in Home Depot. but they were super busy (they always are), and no one came out to unlock the thing for me. after waiting for 10 mins, i got mad and left. ordered this thing and its the best decision I made. to top it off, Klein Tools one (Model # M2O41328KIT) only crimps Cat5 and 6 cables. but this one can do 7, and 8! haven't tried it but you just need to adjust it before using it for other cables.

There are several items as part of this package. I will review them one at a time.
1. Crimpers pros are the multifunction all in one tool.
first there are wire cutters and are very sharp and precisely cut the CAT5/5e. The cutters are not meant to cut heavy gauge wire.
Next there are two wire strippers, one for round cable and one for flat cable. I can't speak to the flat wire stripper because I don't use flat cables but the round CAT5/5e stripper worked perfectly without knicking any of the inside wires. Although I would warn that the round cables can become more oval when handling but just a quick squeeze to reshape the cable before using the strippers works perfectly.
Finally you have the actually crimping function. I only used the RJ45 8P8C but there are RJ11 6P and 4P crimps also. The RJ45 connector slid in easy and hit the stopper without pushing through too far. A firm squeeze on the handles crimped the connector. The handles are just long enough to provide good leverage without using two hands to squeeze. The one con for the crimps are it doesn't have a ratcheting mechanism or a final click when the crimp is complete. But as long as you perform a full closure of the handles the crimp comes out great everytime.

2. Testers pros are the ease of use and versatility to use with RJ45 8P and RJ11 6P connectors. The testers attach together which is great when testing a short patch cable and can be reverse attached to keep the test ports on the same side. I used these between three floors without the need to constantly run up and down stairs to check connections. I was not able to find any cons with the testers.

3. Stand alone wire stripper - There's not much to these but it does work well. There are several different stripper positions for different sized cables. It is very easy to slide the cable into a smaller position and knick all the inside wires. Also you don't want to rotate the strippers around the wire too many times because it will dig in and knick the inside wires. As a bonus on the stand alone strippers is a punch down tool for seating the twisted pairs into a jack assembly. The only con i found with the stand alone stripper is it's not very heavy duty but to be honest I will use the wire stripper on the crimpers most of the time.

Overall at this price this package is a very good deal and would be a good addition to a tool set. One last mention is this would not hold up well for everyday professional use but as occasional use this will hold up great.
