The place that Medicare rented the original bed I got was unusable for me. It had a hand crank at the end of the bed to raise or lower it. As at the time I was not very mobile so constantly thinking how was I possibly going to raise and lower it. Called the rental place and was told I would have to pay the difference between the two, electric vs. hand crank. I was ok with that but of course they didn't have any total electric. Saw this bed on Amazon and ordered it. Absolutely love it. Very glad I ordered it. Can use it as a spare bed when I'm done with it.

Had the exact same bed for 14 years until a wire accidentally got severed. Orderd this one on a Sat 5/6/23 and it arrived by 7am Monday morning. I could not believe how fast this bed got here! All the other beds there was like a 2 week arrival time. No way i could wait that long. Needed it for elderly Dad much sooner. Me and my buddy put it together in probably about 45 minutes or so. There was one hippcup but called customer service and they immediately solvied our issue. Very happy.

My wife was using a lighter bed that moved away from her when she fell against it. This one is much heavier and sturdier. It isn't easy to assemble. Get someone who is good at that kind of thing. The half railings are extremely difficult to attach. We haven't been able to properly use the feature to lower and raise the whole bed. The head and feet rise and drop well. The casters are good and the brake system works very well.

Love it because mattress is more gurney style which I like better than mattresses that trap you. Get the side rails so patient can pull self up when needed. Same one I slept in at Rehab but w/o rails. Get the rails. Well worth the price of independence!
