I had problems with my central AC unit last winter and thought , "What if this had happened in August?" Well, March of this year I bought this unit, had it installed and sure 'nuff, August came and a capacitor burned out . Within 24 hours the AC folks had it fixed and I thought, 'that was close - glad I had it for the night. Then two weeks later the compressor went out and had to be replaced. For four days my 5,000 BTU Midea window AC kept the bedroom cool and comfortable and the house livable. No, it didn't cool the rest of the house but I was able to venture out to make coffee in the morning, breakfast , wash some clothes and run back to the bedroom. Did I mention I live in Florida? Hot Summer. The AC guy told me he wished all his customers thought ahead - lots of 'em have to stay with relatives or get a hotel room. Now to save money and be comfortable I turn the central unit up to 80 at night and use the Midea in the bedroom. Grrreat unit.

This AC works well in cooling, wish it was not so noisy so I could sleep with it running

I was a little skeptical, not being familiar with the brand, but decided to give it a try. Works just as well, if not better than the more expensive brands and cools down a good sized bedroom, no issues.

VALUE for the money! A very basic AC, but in NYC, that's all you need. It's a quiet humming device, with an easy set of options. Easy to install and easier to use. If it was smart, great! But as is, it's a solid choice for low cost and low worry.
