Good texture but unpleasant aftetaste

These hydrate in hot water nicely and sautee well, but are a bit too small. My main grievance is the aftertaste. If you don't soak these in some very flavorful sauce, then the taste is horrible. Bitter-off notes, offensive weird nutty flavor. You have to tell yourself "this must be healthy for me, right?"

Easy to work with, would take any flavor you want. I usually soak it with the spices I want to taste then cook on pan. Chewy like chicken in a good way. I used the food processor to make "ground chicken " for tacos - yummy!
