Antenna would not work and I did not know why. Decided to replace this gizmo even though I had no way of knowing if it worked or not. Did not seem to change anything at first. Tried channel searching and TV still would not find any channels. Then a week or so later I tried it and the antenna had started working and discovered some channels on it's own. So maybe some patience is required if it does not immediately work.
PS. Also replaced coaxial cable at the same time so that might have also helped, although I had tried the new cable with the old gizmo and nothing happened, so I think it was this item that fixed everything.
