have a 50lb mcnab that loves to keep a ball in his mouth and chase this machine around when I can't take him to the park I use this remote car. he has pounced on it and nosed it tons... but never bit it and it still keeps going. Tires come off the tracks and are easy to slide back on. I can remove the hair and carpet from the wheels with removing a simple screw. Overall very happy, it keeps going after 20 runs with the dog with no signs of battery issues or other large issues. The remote works...but is a button press on the board. the joystick just presses a button and has one speed. had to take apart the controller as a joystick wasn't touching the button just right and had to fix it. Hard to know which direction the machine is facing and which way the remote will take it. battery life states 25 mins...I'd say more like 15mins before it starts slowing down and drags along for the next 10mins till it finally dies. affordable and solid machine to play around with. dog slobber never been an issue so I'd say some puddles could be fine. thinking on painting the wheels on one side to let me know which joystick controls which wheels.

My 7 year old is obsessed with RC cars. The problems we always ran into: Replacing batteries daily, too loud, hurt when it hit our feet, wheels stop working because of hair getting clogged. This car fixed all of those. My favorite feature that I didn't expect was that the wheels unscrewed, which was a relief because tinsel got in there about 15 minutes into play time. We would have had to throw it away normally, instead I took 5 minutes to get it working again. 10/10, will be buying a fleet.
Thing to note for parents: you need a USB charging box to use the charging cord, 2 AAA batteries for the controller, and a mini Phillips screwdriver. Consider charging and adding batteries before gifting!
