Does the job, cuts straight

I like the saw, the cut gauge is accurate no adjustments needed out of the box. The only thing about it I don't like is that a lot of the parts are plastic, like the lock on rail, the locking hinges are plastic and came cracked at the screw holes, no idea why you would make those plastic when you're constantly removing the rail and putting it on during assembly/disassembly. Will for sure be calling skil for replacement parts soon enough, other than that great saw would probably get a better blade but it works fine for most applications.
Excellent saw for the price point.

Bought it to replace my worn out cheap Ryobi table saw, that cut like child's toy.
Unlike what many were saying on reviews, I had to adjust EVERYTHING, NOT factory pre-adjusted as were mentioned by many.
I'm finally able to make cuts to build some worthwhile projects and able to get some of my "to-do" list and work on my "honey-do" lists in the very near future.

Great for a part-timer

Have used the saw quite a lot over the past 3 months and it has been perfect for my usage. I'm just using it for little projects but it has performed as well as I hoped.
This is the One!

I am an intermediate woodworker who had a very old Ryobi table saw I used to get by. My dream was to get the infamous SawStop or a nice cabinet table saw, but I was not sure about making that sort of investment yet. I did some research and saw recommendations for this saw. I was skeptical, but when I saw the price I went for it. It is amazing!
Set up was easy, and I love that the legs fold up for storage. So easy to set up, so easy to zero! The cuts are pretty darned accurate, and the saw has lots of great features. I bought a good finishing blade and a blade for cutting PVC. It rips well, is fairly quiet, and I love that the blade stops a lot faster than my old Ryobi did. I also love the 3-year Skil warranty on the saw.
If you aren't ready to invest in a $2,000 - $7,000 cabinet saw or SawStop but want good, accurate cuts--this is the saw for you. Worth every penny and then some.
Pros:
- Super easy setup
- Easy to zero/align the blade
- Broad cutting surface
- Rack and pinion fence movement glides smoothly and is accurate
Cons:
- The throat plates for the saw aren't great, and there are few options to buy after market plates. I do plan to purchase the dado plate, but for cuts where I need zero clearance I am opting to just put strong tape on the regular plate, raise the blade, make the cuts, and remove the tape after. I cannot justify paying 30 bucks just for a zero clearance plate. Seems making custom plates is an issue too, due to the way they snap into the top.
But overall--money well, well spent! Since the saw was on sale when I bought it, I also invested in the extended warranty plan (which puts my total coverage at 6 years including the manufacturer warranty). Well worth the cost!

Should have bought it long ago!

I like that it can rip through 4x4 without bogging down! Also the set up was mostly done before delivery. The fence is very user friendly, and I particularly like the fact I can lock the start button down, protects the grandkids!.
