I bought these for cutting asphalt shingles when I re-roofed my home. The blades worked great when sharp but dulled quickly. I don't know if other blades would stay sharp longer considering the abrasive quality of asphalt shingles, but it seemed like I was constantly changing the blades, or struggling with a dull blade. The hooked shape did make it easier to cut straight lines on the shingles with less risk of cutting the underlayment or shingles below.
The price on Amazon was better than the price at a hardware store when I purchased the blades.

I got these for cutting off golf grips - Always cut away from you. They fit my Stanley 10-099 cutter very nice. I can't comment on durability or longevity as I've only used it once, but it was nice and sharp and the golf grip was no match for the blade.
