Our son loves most musical instruments. He has expressed he would like to have a full drum set to jam and rock out to, however, him being 6 we decided to wait and find something more soothing for him to play until he's a little older. We have a small home and we aren't ready for a full drum set, rock out session so we decided to substitute his desires with this drum. He absolutely loves it!! It is so calming and relaxing to hear. He loves the "beautiful sounds" it creates and I'm just so pleased he enjoys it. It comes with 2 mallets, finger mallets and a song book that is for kids to follow. My son prefers to create his own melodies and they sound amazing. We couldn't be more thrilled. Great gift for a kid!
