I have installed the unit on a bike bag at the rear of my electric bike. It's powered by a separate, small 12v lithium battery. A switch on the handle bar turns on both this unit and a 5" screen I installed on the handle bar with a phone holder.
Works great as a supplement to my small bike mirror, especially if it's turned on before making a left turn. If the light sensor on the right side is covered with a piece of black electric tape, the LEDs stay on to provide an added safety feature in daylight hours as well as after dark.

Instructions could be better regarding mirror imaging and guidelines.
Finding a camera is difficult when there are little independent reviews other than relying on the sheer number of replies. So far so good...haven't yet gotten it wet so don't know if it is resistant to rain or washing the car.
The wide image is not to my liking but that is me as YMMV.
