My husband wanted to add to his growing family of musical instruments. I let out a Marge Simpson groan when he mentioned a drum kit. Not only are they loud, they are big, and very expensive. I started him with a practice pad and he graduated to this Toca Kickboxx. It sounds great and is exactly what he needs to practice drumming. It is easy to pack up and move out of the way and looks nice. Best of all, I don't have a big old drum kit in my living room.

I could definitely see converting this to an electric kit - either replacing pads with existing e-pads or adding triggers to these and changing to mesh heads. Maybe get 2 for a double bass drum set up...
