My university health center used to offer these disposable thermometers for students to monitor their fever status when ill, and I was impressed by how handy and hygienic they were. These are just as good, perfect to keep on hand in your purse in case you need to check a kid's temperature on the go or to eliminate the risk of cross contamination between family members when multiple people are sick. It does take a minute to get an accurate oral temperature so these aren't instant read and you do need fairly good lighting to be able to discern which dots are black and which are green to read off the temperatures, but they do give measurements consistent with our trusty Vicks' digital thermometer
