It is so quiet you can't hardly hear it running we love it

So far this has exceeded by expectations. I only hope that it continues to do so. I have used this for a 4 day weekend & on a full tank I was able to run this for 24+hrs! I was "replacing" a 20+yr old Honda 2000 Invertor, that still runs btw, and this Generac IQ3500 is MUCH quieter then that! I have a friend that has the Honda 3000 Invertor that is basically identical to the Generac IQ3500 and, just like the description from Generac, the Generac is MUCH quieter then his Honda 3000! Oh, and for a LOT LESS money! Like I said, I can only hope that I can look back 20yrs from now & still say the same about this but for now, all is good!

First of all, know that this thing is a beast. It's built like a tank and weighs like one too. It's not easy for me to move around on my own, so I built a cart with big 10" wheels to roll it around.

I just finished my first weekend using this generator for 4 days straight. Here's my observations:

It's really quiet. I had several people asking me where I bought it and details about it's capability. There was a honda running closeby and both sounded about the same in terms of noise. There was another trailer setup about 75 feet away with a jobsite type generator - the noise coming from that thing drowned out mine where I had to check several times to ensure it was still running.

It's powerful. It had more than enough power for my 9K btu Air Conditioner and anything else I ran off it (fans, coffee maker, battery charger, etc.) It was actually the keurig (1500 watts) in combination with the AC which drew the most power.

It's economical. This thing ran for 20 hours before running out of gas. I had it in eco mode and didn't expect that kind of time on 2.5 gallons of gas. I used 89 octane, no ethanol fuel. The temps were warm in the day (85-ish and sunny) and cool at night (60-ish), so the AC was not using max wattage all the time.

I am absolutely happy with my purchase and recommend this generator highly.

Nice generator, easy to set up. Not so easy to transport w/ the handle going lengthwise. Would've been a better design with fold out handles on each end (more like a cooler) so two people could bear the load easier. We made a simple modification with some exercise handles you can also find on amazon for cheap. See attached. Other than that, its solid!

The Generac iQ3500 is a nice, quiet running machine. Took several decibel readings in both full power mode and economy mode. Those readings ranged from lows of 64-65ish at the front of the unit out to about 3ft away. Loudest reading was at the back of the unit in full power mode with an 83.4dB. Stood inside my camper which was around ten feet away and got a reading of 44dB. With the air conditioner running in the camper, the air conditioner was louder than the generator. Very happy, would recommend. One note to new owners, I couldn't find the oil capacity anywhere in the owners manual. Unit comes with one quart of 30W oil. It does not take the entire quart, ended up taking about 7/8. Gas tank holds 2 1/2 gal.
Update after first use: This thing is great! Ran it all weekend nonstop, over 40 hours straight on 10gal. of gas. Does not like to be moved, even a little, while it is running. Love this generator!
